Quote:#Metoo. Sexting pressure. The Hook-up culture. Teenage depression.
As a concerned father of three girls, Don Johnson traveled around the country to discover how the culture became so toxic for women.
He found a surprising answer. And some hope for the future.
quotes from the transcript:
Humanae Vitae is probably the most controversial document that's ever been written. Everyone laughed at him!
They said, you know, look at this Pope! Get with the times--
I mean, obviously it's going to help marriages,
we're gonna be stronger,
and divorce was gonna go down to zero as a rate,
and it'llbethispanacea for allourproblems!
Everybody was so excited about something that
would control overpopulation,
help women be more active in the world,
help people control their family size.
They thought while we found the magic a magic potion right here...

There's a big up swell of interest in this newfound wonder pill right and he has to have the nerve to push back against it.
He (Pope Paul VI) predicted:
1. an increase in unkindness to women,
2. (an increase in) abuse of women
3. (an increase in) using women
4. (an increase in) women misusing that
5. (an increase in) increase of divorce
6. (an increase in) increase of adultery
6. (an increase in) we will see an increase in adultery
7. an increase in premarital sex
8. (an increase in) an increase in divorce
9. (an increase in) an increase in fatherless children, and that would lead to
10. an increase in crime
11. (an increase in) drugs
12. (an increase in) poverty
(an increase in) so many of the social ills we're experiencing today that we just kind of take for granted as part of the world.
The more we see it the more we think how did he (Pope Paul VI) know? I mean, this was it was prophetic--he was a prophet beyond what he could have imagined! If you read the document (Humanae Vitae) he is way ahead of the curve in seeing the consequences.
Looking back it's just impressive that he had the foresight to see the world that contraception helped bring about can all of this be traced back to contraception? If so how so if you look around at a lot of the toxic things that are going on they would be unthinkable; they would be unthinkable if you did not already buy the idea that sex was essentially a sterile activity.

In the USA in 1960 the bastard baby rate was 5.3%. WTF happened?
Benevolent BIG Gubment took over the role of daddy.
That and any sense of “shame” or embarrassment slowly eroded. Now it’s somehow cheered as a rite of passage or coming of age or some such nonsense. Loss of any form of moral compass.
It sure did. Is SEC country the only area where college grads still get married pretty young? I notice that up here where you have a strong native Catholic hood overwhelmingly it is marriage then kids, as an example West side of Cincy, South side of Indianapolis.

SEC country is no different then other parts of the country. Actually worse then some other parts.

Doesn’t it only take a village?
Who cares really? Let’s all watch Ellen and GMA and feel good about ourselves.
Meanwhile the rest of us smucks have to pay for it.
