trump's EPA Allowing Asbestos Back Into Manufacturing
And in a stunning coincidence, a Russian company stands to benefit. No way!

Quote:As the world’s largest exporter of asbestos, the Russian company Uralasbest operates an enormous open mine nearly half the size of Manhattan in a mountainous town 900 miles northeast of Moscow, according to the Center for Public Integrity. The company has support from the government and President Vladimir Putin, even though their economic success exposes the local residents to major health risks. Once referred to as “the dying city,” Asbest’s residents have reported the carcinogenic dust is often found as a thick film over garden vegetables, laundry lines, and even on the floors of their homes.

Earlier last month, The Washington Post noted that the Environmental Working Group (EWG) and the ADAO had discovered a controversial post on Uralasbest’s Facebook page showing photos of company pallets stamped with a seal of U.S. President Donald Trump’s face. Trump has long been vocal about his skepticism on the harmful effects of asbestos, citing in his 1997 book, The Art of the Comeback, that anti-asbestos efforts were “led by the mob.” In 2012, he tweeted that the World Trade Center might not have burned had the fire-retardant material not been removed from the towers. It’s estimated that 400 tons of asbestos fiber went into the structures before the developers stopped it from being used further in 1971.

Afterwards, any surviving REALLY CUTE kittens and puppies will be used as target practice by the NRA.

Only on buildings to be used to house the news media. Gotta read the fine print.

Uralasbest must be run by some dumb phucks. Why wait for Trump to win in a rigged election? Too risky. They'd have been way ahead of the game just "donating" to the Clinton Foundation.

Sifting through the hundreds if not thousands of pieces of news on a given day, and finding the 1 that may or may not benefit Russia is not a convincing argument.

Instead, take everything involving Russia and analyze if President Trump is being tough or easy on them. The answer will disappoint you.

So cute kittens and puppies can be experimented upon and then sold back to the Russian Trump Comrades as genetic mutations in order to corner the mutant animal market.

I doubt architects, contractors are going spec it much, everyone limits their liability. Also it is legal but regulated.
700 metric tons was imported during Obama's last year.

I'd like to see the reasoning behind it as well. In some applications asbestos is very safe (floor tiles) but other applications and the removal of asbestos materials can be very dangerous.

I watched my ex mother in law go downhill from meso and it was a bad sight. She was a teacher in a small district and that district removed the asbestos wrap from overhead water pipes during the teacher work week at the end of the school year some 15 years before she was diagnosed.

I would imagine it depends on what it was used for and how. I would need more information before commenting on it.

When presented with competing hypotheses to solve a problem, one should select the solution with the fewest assumptions.

It's okay to the extent the regulations allow it. As someone posted, 700 metric tons imported during the Magic Man's last year. Somebody used it for something, no?

This is one of those republicans want to poison our drinking water-type stories when regulations were eased from .00000001 ppb to .0000001 ppb arsenic in drinking water.
