RE: Update: Bizarre Case Going on in NM
Quote:Prosecutors say in court documents that the father of a missing Georgia boy was training children at a New Mexico compound to commit school shootings.

The documents filed Wednesday say Siraj Ibn Wahhaj (see-DAHJ' IBN wah-HAJ') was conducting weapons training at the compound near the Colorado border where 11 hungry children were found in filthy conditions.

Prosecutors filed the documents while asking that Wahhaj be held without bail.

Wahhaj was arrested last week with four other adults. They are facing child abuse charges.

Authorities say the remains of a boy also were found on the compound but have not been positively identified by a medical examiners.

Saw the breaking news on TV about this. One of the 3 women told investigators that the kids were being trained to use weapons. Also in court the father of the other male suspects yelled allah 'akbar.

Dang lucky to have caught these nuts prior to any mass shooting.

There are videos at the first three links.

Quote:TAOS, N.M. – The father of one of the suspects who was arrested after a raid on a northern New Mexico compound revealed what may have attracted them to the state.

Gerard Jabril Abdulwali said he hasn’t communicated with his son, Lucas Morton, since December, but he says Morton and his companion were looking to get away from the traditional American life.

“All they wanted to do was get out of society, get away, homestead and build a peaceful life,” said Abdulwali.

While law enforcement believes the arsenal of weapons, found on the compound, was used for school shooting training, Morton's father believes there is another explanation.

“Weapons are not legal in some places, they are used for protection and when you are traveling with women and children, you need to protect yourself,” he said.

As far as the three women who were arrested, Taos Muslim leader Latifa Weinman met with them in jail Tuesday.

She said they had one request.

“They wanted Korans. It's like somebody asking for the Bible,” Weinman said.

Quote:ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The 11 children, found living in a compound in Taos County, are now in foster care, according to CYFD Cabinet Secretary Monique Jacobson.

She couldn’t release specific details about the children, ranging in age from 1 to 15 years old, but she spoke to KOB 4 about how CYFD handles cases, in general.

"We'll be working to get them medical assessments, dental assessments. Over time we want to make sure we're getting all their behavioral health needs met," said Jacobson.

According to court documents, one of the eleven children told their foster parent they'd been trained, "…in the use of an assault rifle in preparation for a future school shooting, to kill as many people as possible."

The documents also state the children were transported across state lines for the purpose of "receiving advanced weapons training to commit future acts of violence."

Quote:ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The children rescued from a Taos County compound have been instrumental in the investigation, according to authorities.

A search warrant states, at least two children said, in a safehouse interview, that Abdul-Ghani Wahhaj died and was buried at the compound.

Siraj Ibn Wahhaj is accused of abducting his son in December.

Quote:KOAT-TV reported that Morton’s father, who was at the Taos courthouse Wednesday, said four of the 11 children found at the compound are his grandchildren and that the group came to New Mexico to practice their religion and make a better life. He said the guns were intended for protection.

Gerard Jabril Abdulwali also said on camera that the group in the compound felt like American society, particularly under the Trump administration, doesn’t accept the Muslim religion and is “not positive toward Muslims at all.”

Abdulwali said he received a text message last Thursday saying the people in the compound had run out of money and were starving and he set out from New York to deliver “a care package.” He said he didn’t contact law enforcement.

If Wahhaj and Morton were “white nationalists”, this would be the #1 story in American media right now.

RE: Update: Bizarre Case Going on in NM, Kids Trained For School Shootings
Quote:The missing boy’s grandfather, Siraj Wahhaj, a Muslim cleric who leads a well-known New York City mosque, told reporters he had learned from other family members that the remains were his grandson’s.

The imam said he did not know the cause of death.

“Whoever is responsible, then that person should be held accountable,” Wahhaj said.

A Georgia arrest warrant accused the boy’s father, Siraj Ibn Wahhaj, the imam’s son, of kidnapping the child. Authorities said the father at some point told his wife he wanted to perform an exorcism on the boy, who cannot walk, suffers seizures and requires constant attention because of a lack of oxygen and blood flow at birth.

The child’s father was among five adults arrested on suspicion of child abuse at the compound after the children were discovered. In court papers, prosecutors also said Wahhaj had been training children there to carry out school shootings.

Speaking at his Brooklyn mosque, the elder Wahhaj said his family was trying to make arrangements to bring the child’s body to Georgia.

All 11 of the children, he said, were either his biological grandchildren or members of his family through marriage.

“I’m very concerned with the condition of my grandchildren,” he said. He said he didn’t understand why his son had taken the family and disappeared into the desert, but suggested a psychiatric disorder was to blame.

“My son can be maybe a little bit extreme,” he said, though he added that he never thought he was extreme enough to kill anyone. “High-strung,” he said.

The grandfather’s mosque that has attracted radicals over the years, including a man who later helped bomb the World Trade Center in 1993.

New Mexico’s Office of the Medical Investigator said it was still working to identify the remains.

Dr. Kurt Nolte, New Mexico’s chief medical investigator, said the remains “are in a state of decomposition that has made identification challenging.”

The remains will stay in New Mexico until the agency’s investigation is completed — a process that could take weeks, said office spokeswoman Alexandria Sanchez.

Taos-area District Attorney Donald Gallegos said he will await the findings on how the boy died before deciding how to proceed.

The group arrived in the desert area in December, according to neighbors. Taos County Sheriff Jerry Hogrefe said the FBI had put the place under surveillance in recent months that included photographs of the compound and interviews.

He said the images were shared with the mother of Abdul-ghani, but she did not spot her son, and the photographs never indicated the father was at the compound, leaving the sheriff without the information he needed to obtain a search warrant.

That changed when Georgia authorities received a message that may have originated inside the compound that children were starving, Hogrefe said.

It already should have been this way but after this I hope that any time Iman Siraj Wahhaj takes a dump he had to remove the FBI surveillance team from his ass to do so. Between this, his on the record statements talking about how he wants all Americans to become Muslim and being involved with the "Blind Sheikh" Omar Abdel-Rahma he doesn't need covert surveillance, he needs two white vans with great big FBI decals on all four sides following him around 24/7. If he asks someone to pass the salt it needs to be passed to him by someone wearing a FBI windbreaker.

Women's march co-chair and #resistance icon linda sarsar called the father of the NM terrorist her "mentor" and "amazing".

[Image: linda-sarsour-imam-siraj-wahhaj-Getty-AP-640x480.jpg]

Quote:Left-wing Islamic activist Linda Sarsour reportedly has ties to the father of the man arrested for allegedly training children to carry out school shootings on a New Mexico compound.

Police arrested Siraj Ibn Wahhaj, 39, last week for allegedly holding a series of weapons training sessions on a Taos, New Mexico, compound where authorities say they found 11 children living in squalor.

Investigators say the decomposed remains of a boy had also been found on the compound. Wahhaj’s father, Imam Siraj Wahhaj, announced Thursday that the decomposed remains of the child found at the compound were of his three-year-old grandson, Abdul-ghani Wahhaj, who went missing in Jonesboro, Georgia, in December.

Imam Siraj Wahhaj, who presides over a Brooklyn, New York, mosque, is said to be an “unindicted co-conspirator” of the 1993 World Trade Center bombings and a prominent leader of the Muslim Alliance in North America. Authorities believed he was connected to the bombings, but prosecutors never filed charges against him.

But the younger Wahhaj is not the only person who had ties to Imam Wahhaj.

Linda Sarsour, a prominent Democratic activist who helped organize the Women’s March on Washington, called Imam Wahhaj a “mentor” at an Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) conference in 2017:

My favorite person in this room, that’s mutual, is Imam Siraj Wahhaj, who has been a mentor, and motivator and encourager of mine, someone who has taught me to speak truth to power and not worry about the consequences, someone who has taught me we are on this earth to please Allah, and only Allah, that we are not here to please any man or women on this Earth, so I’m grateful to you, Imam Siraj … I’m grateful to you Imam Siraj, God bless you and protect you for a long time because we need you now more than ever.

______________

Quote:AMALIA, N.M. – Dirty diapers, shotgun shells, small broken bicycles, the white sandal of a baby, anguished journals about faith and a DVD about killing techniques in close combat.

Ordinary and extraordinary household objects littered a squalid compound on a high-desert plain of northern New Mexico, bearing silent witness to the lives of 11 children and five adults — and perhaps one missing boy.

The empty dwelling, without running water or a drainage system, is arranged around a rickety camper that is half submerged in a dirty pit and surrounded by 7-foot (2-meter) berms of used tires, sections of adobe wall topped with broken glass, a junked refrigerator and other odd supplies.

An alcove shaped out of wooden shipping pallets hides a makeshift bathroom — with a toilet seat suspended above a blue plastic bucket. A pair of underpants dangled from a pole overhead.

To one side of the camper, an underground tunnel — big enough to crawl through — led in and out of the compound, which was flanked by an apparent target range. Dozens of spent casings were left behind there.

Prosecutors also have accused the adults in court documents of training children to use firearms in preparation for future school shootings, although no charges have been filed in response to the accusation that came from a new foster parent of one of the 11 children removed from the compound.

Refuse at the compound included standard ammunition as well as fake cartridges designed to help people safely learn how to load and fire a weapon.

The owner of the property, Jason Badger, on Friday prodded through a left-behind satchel of ammunition — fit for rifle, shotgun and handgun — and discarded garbage bags holding crumpled grade-school textbooks and journals lined with notes in neat cursive and the primitive doodles of children.

While touring the ramshackle living quarters littered with diesel cans, used diapers, household garbage and Qurans, he questioned why authorities did not search a squalid New Mexico compound sooner for Abdul-ghani, saying he told them in late spring that he had met the child's father at the site and that the man was wanted in Georgia for kidnapping his own son.

Badger also said he believed he saw the searched-for boy by his father's side in January, wearing a hooded jacket.

Badger said in an interview that he learned through an online search this spring that Wahhaj was wanted in the disappearance of son Abdul-ghani Wahhaj and reported his earlier encounter to law enforcement authorities in New Mexico and Georgia — and eventually to the FBI.

"If they knew about it, and then that kid died in that timeframe, when they knew, somebody has to be held accountable," Badger said.

Taos County Sheriff's Department Steve Fullendorf spokesman downplayed Badger's criticism of the investigation, saying Sheriff Jerry Hogrefe did everything he could possible under the law and had to follow certain restrictions.

"Mr. Badger doesn't have to adhere to those same restrictions," Hogrefe said. "He wants to have his 15 minutes of fame and that's fine."

Hogrefe has said the FBI put the New Mexico compound under surveillance in recent months and took photographs, but he could not initially get a warrant to enter because the images collected did not show the boy or his father.

Georgia-based media has paid some attention. Not as much as the story merits, IMHO, but some.

RE: Update: Bizarre Case Going on in NM, Kids Trained For School Shootings

Quote:Those five suspects faced a judge Monday. Prosecutors argued the evidence is overwhelming and wanted the five accused Muslim extremists to stay behind bars until trial.

However, after an hours-long detention hearing Monday, a judge set a $20,000 bond for each of the defendants.

Prosecutors said Wahhaj's 3-year-old son died during a religious ritual on the property, and according to the search warrant, all of the adults and children watched it happen.

The sheriff also said that the remains of a toddler were found wrapped in plastic and cloth on the property.

Prosecutors argued that all five suspects should remain behind bars until trial for the safety of the community because they were training the children to shoot guns for school shootings.

Some of the new evidence that came to light was that Wahhaj had taken numerous firearm classes at an Atlanta firearms training center, and that they had never seen someone take so many gun classes in such a small amount of time.

Months later, prosecutors say that Wahhaj took a trip to Saudi Arabia. When he came back, they say he wanted to divorce his wife and kidnaped his son, Abdul Wahhaj.

They ended up in New Mexico with four other adults and 11 children.

In court Monday, the sheriff recalled the intense moments when he arrived at the compound.

"I could hear voices, I knew I could hear talking. I knew I could hear movement. I knew I could see the trailer moving as a small camper sometimes will, and I wanted to know what the heck was going on inside of there, and yes, it put me at an exposure, but who better than me?" he said.

The sheriff also testified a surplus of ammunition was found in the compound, along with a shooting range and books on how to make an AR-15 untraceable.

He says the guns were within reach of the children, even saying one child was armed and had a holster with amo.

The defense argued that children can be trained to use guns and there is no proof that any of the women had used the guns.

The defense also argued the guns had serial numbers and the men rightfully owned them.

The defense said there's no proof or evidence that the child died during a ritual.

Should any of the defendants bond out of jail, they will be required to wear an ankle monitor and none of them are allowed to leave the country. In order to see their children, it must be under supervision and they cannot discuss the case.

Two possibilities here:

1. The judge is batsh*t, barking-at-the-moon insane; or
2. There is a whole lot more to the story than what’s come out so far.
