1) I'm not sure you're really joking.
2) The poor people in Chicago can't afford to move anywhere, effectively locking them in like a wall. They really can't move.
3) The ammo/gun drop is just as effective when you have Chucks Gun Shop and others pumping the guns over the city limits
What Chicago WANTS is an effective wall....to keep the guns out.

2) That's bull****.
3) That's bull****. Over 20 years, multiple lawsuits, no judgements against them.

Send in the Illinois National Guard, get warrants for every person and household in the crime ridden parts of the city and go house by house making arrests and confiscating contraband.
Put the violators in prison, or offer them one of the atolls near Bikini with enough supplies to start their own little society and boot their butts out of the nation. No geiger counter needed. Do that in enough of these really high crime areas where the cops are outgunned and pretty soon Joe Average citizen will feel safe again.
As long as punks feel that the city lacks the fortitude to deal with them, or that they have the police intimidated, then this kind of crap will happen. Send in the Guard and clean it up and pretty soon the cops will quit shooting some of the innocent kids when they reach in their pocket for their ID.
One problem lead to the other. If cops feel threatened then innocent kids will get hurt. If law enforcement is overwhelmed Martial Law is the time honored way of dealing with what it really is, a mini rebellion against law enforcement.
We just don't have many politicians with the guts to do it. And because of it people suffer as victims daily in those neighborhoods, trust between citizens and law enforcement breaks down, and everyone loses their rights to life, property, and security. It's time to quit fooling around with criminals.
Not sure how familiar you are with Chicago politics and Illinois politics, but I'll tell you what would happen if something like that were tried.
First thing would be all the talking heads, SJWs, and civil rights "activists" would be incensed, and accuse the President, Governor, and Mayor of being racist. People like the Rear-end Jesse Jacka$$ and Father Michael Pfleger would be marching and protesting, ignoring the REAL problems but focusing on how people's "rights" are being violated.
The second thing happening would be the SAME "community" who demanded "something be done" then turn around and protest and cry outrage over the tactics being used to curb the violence. The SAME people who complained about the lack of policing would turn faster than a jackrabbit on the police claiming racial profiling and harassing their youths.
The problem is the "community" literally wants to have their cake and eat it too. They demand something be done, then b!tch about EVERYTHING that is done. They want better policing then turn around and b!tch about the methods. They insist that politicians and police crack down on violence then refuse to help the law enforcement identify and prosecute those criminals.
This has been going on in Chicago for YEARS. If it isn't violence, it's jobs or schools or any number of things. All of them end up going back to the SAME problem, solutions must START in the community, not in some office.

I understood the diagnosis, I merely offered a cure. If the patient won't take the medicine then perhaps we should quarantine them.
