Yes, although it’s not advertised as an indoor facility. We can eventually enclose it to protect our players from the frigid low 50s temps we get down here during football season. For now, they’ll just have to be men I guess.

Do they also run a farmers market out of it?

What were the cost savings as opposed to building one that was completely enclosed? If they are significant, I bet Georgia Southern will go for something more like this.

Not really sure, I think we were going more for size than anything else. Our main issue here is rain and lightening, so the sides were not really critical. It’s the largest in Alabama.

I’m pretty sure if it’s lightning I’m getting out of that and in to a building.

Looking at that thing, it doesn't strike me as the safest place in the world during a lightning storm.

It looks good. I would imagine Troy will eventually go this route whenever the IPF proposals start.

I like it, honestly. I mean, even Power 5 IPF's kind of resemble giant sheds so I don't think this looks too bush league by comparison.

Except this looks like a half built shed.

I hate to say it, but that was my first initial thought when I saw the picture. Not knocking on south, but they should take into account the geographical location of where they live and the effects of what mother nature will do to buildings like that, especially being right by the gulf where hurricanes, tornado's are a prime target. You make building's to last, and a building like that in south's case does not make sense at all. Not trying to be negative, it looks fantastic....but when you have a budget and donor money is involved...you have to think smarter and build smarter, because it could potentially hurt future fundraising opportunities.

UAB has the same thing. Seems like a creative solution for programs that may not necessarily have the money to build an entirely closed in facility.

How does one have enough to build 80% of the building but can’t come up with the amount to build the other 20%?

Yea, I mean why half ass something. Why build it at all. I get it to an extent...recruiting. However, not saying something will happen to the facility, but if something were to happen think of all the outcry, negative feed back and bad publicity that comes along with it. At that point it would just be money that was raised down the drain.
