RE: Uniforms
Off topic (mostly) but what do people think of the new Las Vegas Aviators logo (that's the new name of the former minor league Las Vegas 51's.)? I say mostly off-topic because it's a nod somewhat to the namesake of the Howard Hughes Corp (the name of the new ballpark for the team), and of course Howard Hughes did go to Rice for a bit.

That mascot is pretty bad.
Sometime during my freshman year, some of us got into a discussion about our high school's team names. My roomie allowed that his team was the Flyers, and when some people jested at him, he said, "Well, back in the 30's being a flyer was exciting".
I feel the same way about "Aviators". Outdated and unexciting. But there are worse choices. The LV Snake-eyes? The LV Hustlers?

I liked the Liberty Bowl helmet stickers and the US flag embedded Gothic Block R's. It would make for a great display.
It would. I'd love to see more Rice football history displayed throughout the stadium. Monuments, plaques, photos of all the great players, coaches, games etc. Photos of the stadium being built. History.

Should've just called them the Las Vegas Pod Racers in keeping with the Star Wars theme represented by their Jar Jar Binks look-a-like mascot

Great idea! These types of displays should not just be ensconced in the Owl Club or other venues where only those who have significant resources can enjoy them.

The logo looks like Hadji from Johnny Quest.
