Impeachment resolution filed
For rod rosenstein

Mark Meadows

@RepMarkMeadows

53m

I just filed a resolution with @Jim_Jordan and several colleagues to impeach Rod Rosenstein. The DOJ has continued to hide information from Congress and repeatedly obstructed oversight--even defying multiple Congressional subpoenas. We have had enough.

I shouldn't go there...but Mad Maxine must be having a facial conniption. Her mantra came true for a different public official.

It has little chance of passing the House, and absolutely no chance of passing the Senate but it sends a shot across Rosenstein's bow.

RE: Impeachment resolution filed
How does the Impeachment process work for an official of Rosenstein's stature?

If it passes the House does he have trial in the Senate?

My logic is that if it passes the House the President would have enough justification to remove him regardless of any Senate action.

I'm guessing people outside the Freedom Caucus don't think its politically beneficial. But what the FBI has done to hide information is inexcusable.

Honestly I'd rather it sent the warning shot across Sessions bow. Is he napping 3 hours a day like the DMV free-loader? Where the helll is he on these things?

More wasting of your tax dollars. This is going nowhere. The whole of the House wants little to do with this and the Senate wants it even less.

If you listened to one word Rosenstein has ever said, you'd know this is ridiculous. He will not be deterred one iota by this stunt. Not one.

So, you agree that trying to impeach Trump would be frivolous and wasteful. There's hope for you yet.

"...Ryan said under the rules governing the impeachment process, if the House were to approve of the resolution, it would sideline the GOP agenda by requiring the Senate to then act on the resolution.

“If we were to pass it in the House then what it would do is tie the Senate into knots,” Ryan said. “It would derail or largely delay our agenda.”

Ryan said appropriations and infrastructure legislation and even the timely confirmation of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh would be jeopardized.

Conservatives who introduced the resolution “know how I feel about this,” Ryan said."

Nobody thought this would lead to the removal. This publicly impunes his character and costs nothing.
