This is the obtuse part of the left's complaint.
They had a President with a similar past getting a hummer from a 20 yr old intern while in the Oval office... and that supposedly didn't matter.... No such allegations against Trump... just stuff from often decades ago...and there isn't one person on EARTH who thought he was some sort of Paragon of virtue... so it's a hypocritical complaint from the left....
so instead they're trying to point out to the Christian right that the person they knew all along was bad... is bad....hoping that they will stop supporting him....
ignoring that identity politics isn't really that big a thing on the right, certainly not as big as it seems to be on the left... which I find amusing in another context, but I digress... and to the extent that it IS significant to some, while Trump is clearly 'bad' as a person, as a legislator, he isn't proposing legislation to force people to have affairs... and the left's most recent candidate was similarly though not explicitly complicit in similar activities.
What's it going to take for politically active socially conservative people to wane in their support for Trump? Someone 'to the right' of Trump (like Cruz or Pence... and that's why Pence was picked) who GETS THE NOMINATION FROM THE RIGHT!!
They're politically active so they aren't staying home... and there isn't one single candidate from the left who doesn't have LEGISLATIVE differences with them that far outweigh the PERSONAL differences they have with Trump.
So their support will wain when the economy collapses and it seems Trump won't be re-nominated, much less elected. Until then, the left really gives them no other choice. If the left nominated a Christian who would work AGAINST 'pro' abortion legislation and AGAINST 'fairness' only for non-Christians (don't argue with me about what that means... ask them) THEN their support will wain
