Body cam footage of Athens police officer restraining child released
Video in article

Maybe if one of the four "adults" standing around arguing with the police had removed the child from a situation he had no business witnessing, especially after he was obviously getting upset, the officers would not have had to restrain him after he took a flying leap at them.

People always want to blow up a situation as something more than it is. If I was police officer I don't care if I had to buy it with my own money, I'd have a body cam. This is the 3rd incident this week I have seen where the body cam footage shows a dramatically different situation than the facebook video showing a racist cop.

Here was the other big one
Her side of the story if you can stomach it
What really happened

After watching the footage, I actually thought the officer handled everything well. Additionally, he let the kid go.

Why do so many ignore the whole reason for the police being there in the the first place - the domestic violence - as being the "cause" of the whole thing??
