What broke SF isn't being "cucked" or "leftist". What broke SF were arcane property restrictions and zoning codes. SF land is not worth what people are getting for it, and it's created a "two caste" system in the city.

In my arguments (always lighthearted) with my son over the evils and idiocy of socialism, I in the past have cited Venezuela as the inevitable outcome of socialist policies. That example (in my mind) still stands, but it's gotten a bit old. I think that I'll switch to S.F.

How would creating a system that severely punishes around 80% of the proletariat be leftist? A lot of these restrictions involve posh communities barring the subdivision and reclassification of land - moves that would help the "working poor" find affordable housing.

CA Democrats are not really liberal (free thought and expression) nor are they leftist (societal equity on principle). It's just a lot of corrupt BS that is too scared to be what it wants to be. It's why the USA voted in Trump - and why not allowing Bernie to reach the dance floor was a colossal mistake.

Here's my take. If a city like San Fran is turning to be a shiite hole then perhaps that's what the Liberals of that city deserve. No pity for them in my book. It's like the person that lives like a pig in his house and then complains because he has cockroaches and rats in the house. He just plain deserves it, like the Liberals in SF.
