As shocked as all of you may be, I think the Griff/new W&M/Tribe combo is excellent!

Love the tail.

And ... while not as obvious as the old logo, there's a ton of feathers in this new one.

Am I going to buy and wear ... absolutely.

The Windows have been opened, and the closets are getting cleaned, at W&M. Good stuff!

Kaplan logo looks pretty good. Something about that particular version of the logo on a light-colored background works. The rest, meh.

Count me in as not being yet sold on the new logo overall. However, the brighter, bolder green and gold colors on the court is a BIG improvement from the washed out “watermelon” green previously.

Michigan, OSU, Bama, and PSU have had a lot of success with the bare minimum on their helmets and without a bunch of fru-fru as far as merchandise. This design captures that, anyway.
My biggest issues are 1) We grads weren't involved. That's a big one. I didn't care for the Griffin mascot but I was at peace with the decision because I had a vote. 2) There must've been a dozen logo changes since I graduated. We look desperate to drum up support. Spend money on facilities, salaries, and recruiting budget.

I wonder if UA drove this design in any way.

I haven't looked really hard, but as of right now I cannot determine if these changes include a change to our official school colors. To my eye, both the green and gold have changed shades. In fact, it looks like we are returning to the colors that we wore in the '80s and '90s. The "gold" is definitely a yellow again. And if I'm right, the football team helmets are no longer the right color.

That is really too bad. Have you heard any positive feedback from current students?

I think the font is all UA. This is what they did at UM after the takeover. Very similar font as our new useage of TRIBE on these logos.

In the formal logo description link it answers the question about the two different gold colors. It looks like they now describe both the “W&M” gold color (as seen on the football helmets) and the brighter “spirit” gold used in the new logo as both official school colors along with green and silver.

The white jersey at the top of the FAQ page is awful. That's an example of how bad this new logo can look.

Let’s be honest...the new W&M font is trash and will be mocked ruthlessly by fans of other schools such as JMU. The Griffin is o.k. Did we actually pay someone to design this garbage? If not, we probably should have. Under Armour is ok with this?

Under armor probably led the charge. It's not the same quality brand as when it came on the scene initially.

FWIW, on their board (after prompting) JMU fans are comparing it to their last logo redesign, which their fans hated but are now okay with.

Worked on me the last time, probably will this time too. I don't love it, but perhaps the students will like it. A random sampling of 32 is insufficient. Probably 20 of those were pre-determined haters. At my age, I generally do not like change, but recognize that for people 15-25, things are constantly changing. I do give them credit for the attempt and will continue to support the school and students. I do agree with Tribal that it was nice to be considered in the past with voting and surveys. Will admit that I will love the logo if the guys are wearing it during a win at VT or in JMU in September. Still think success on the field and in the classroom is the most important factor to any logo's success.
