Texas State. And, for me, it's not close.

It’s definately the 2nd best, but I still don’t think it touches what Texas State has. This picture doesn’t give their stadium justice.

Matter of opinion. Theirs was the best but with our addition it changes things.

Texas State’s is the most aesthetically pleasing. Troy isn’t far behind. I’m a fan of campuses with cohesive architecture like Texas State’s and Troy’s. Everyone else is just kind of unique in their own little ways.

Haven't been to Tex St or A State, but imo Troy's is the best out of all the others I've been to.

TXST and it will be hard to ever pass them based off renderings. GS has a slim chance depending how big we go on the South stands but still very slim. Everyone else has had major expansions and would have to tear down and start over to catch TXST.

For those debating TXST and Troy - I’ve been to both stadiums and TXST has the better stadium overall IMO.

Texas State has a nice stadium but a large amount of seats are in the corners and end zone. To me a big drawback. Looks great but if I was there would not care for how it's laid out.

Just one side is finished they have plenty of seats in the middle or between the endzones. Nobody is close really.
Nobody is going to match this when it is done unless they build new

For GS to get close, we’d have to expand the south stands to match the north stands, put one helluva new press box behind it, and then redo the Bishop endzone and bowl that side.
I think USA has a great shot of matching TXST in terms of aesthetics and capacity depending on how many phases they can do at once. I agree though that a lot of SB schools seem content with the metal bleacher, erector set look. *throws shade*

RE: Who has the Best Football Stadium in the SBC?
1. Texas State (the G5 version of Doak Campbell Stadium, sort of resembles a palace, looks great, and on the big side for a G5 stadium)
2. Troy
3. Ark State
4. Louisiana
5. South Alabama
6. Georgia State (good size, but no matter how much work you do it's still a caddywampus baseball stadium converted to a football stadium)
7. Georgia Southern (great end zone buildings, press box needs to be rebuilt
8. App State (great surrounding area, great mountain backdrop, great tailgating atmosphere, I just don't dig the erector-set stands and even if you get rid of the track you're still going to have that hole where it was left.
9. Coastal (I am a fan of the teal turf and think the stadium looks great. It is kinda small lacking in the structures area.)
10. ULM
Flame away.

Forgot USA is going to build new. We basically are since all we had was a bowl. I am sure the old press box / "luxury" suite sheet metal monster will be torn down.
All hinges if we build for the future or for right now like so many seem to do. Based on how nice the north stands and mid deck were done you would think the south stands will be done right. After the next major south stands expansion if done to the same quality as the north we should be safely in the top three depending on what USA does. Until then the south stands are just embarrassing really. You would think they would have a quicker pay off since the boxes would likely require large donations.

I am sure USA folks are thanking you for being 5th, but agree with your list otherwise and reasoning.

RE: Who has the Best Football Stadium in the SBC?
The question should also ask for a explanation of the vote. Best stadium to me is much more than just the seating. I voted State because: 1) much of it is concrete 2) a new state of the art press box with all the ribbons/buttons/suites/boxes 3) a state of the art 120 yard indoor practice arena sitting immediately behind the north end zone 4) a new football operations and training facility under construction in the north end zone which will be in the top of any in G5 5) a modern south end zone complex which will offer excellent visitor dressing and medical facilities.
I have seen several in the conference. Troy has a nice complex. Have not seen Texas State but it looks nice, is it metal or concrete? App also has a nice look.
