formula used by USA Today
% of subsidized revenue= [(student fees + direct school funds + indirect school funds + state money allocated to your school's athletics)/Total Revenue] x 100

Right but the majority of that is student fees. Of the 22M that Georgia State allocated, 19.2M of it was student fees.

oh, was your post meant to be loaded for Georgia State only? silly me. Here I thought ppl would be confused because the percentages dont compute with student fees only.

We are bringing in $20mil purely from student fees....while charging only $270/semester for full-time students...think about that. Enrollment also continues to trend upward. That sounds like a good problem to have.

Actually, any accountant here? isn't this basically splitting hairs?
1) school funds: school taking money from students, then handing it over to athletics
2) athletic fees: school's athletics taking money directly from students

I was using your school as an example since you know....you're a Georgia State fan and all, but be offended if you want to. It's your school's numbers. I'm just typing them out.

Most of UL and ULM budget numbers are from direct institutional support. UL's student fees are listed at $454,141 and ULM's is $316,500.

huh?
1) you said the subsidized percentages are from students fees
2) your claim didn't make sense for a lot of the schools, which left me confused (ex. Troy brought in $1mil from student fees yet its revenue was 72% subsidized)
3) I went back and read the fine prints on USA Today
4) I corrected your mistake here to help others who might have had the same confusion (like the ULM fan above)
5) then you said "right but the majority of that is student fees."....went onto used Georgia State as your example...missing my point entirely
6) then I finally realized that the list was a sham and you just wanted to post a loaded comment for Georgia State. It's cool no problem. carry on

It depends on the school and state. My understanding is Louisiana state schools can’t charge a separate student athletic fee and are limited in the amount they can transfer from the general fund (3%-9%?). VA is on the other end of the spectrum and can’t use school or state funds for athletics so all subsidized amounts will be coming from student fees.

I’m interested in the accounting going on at Ark St. Some large fluctuations the last few years in a couple of categories. Any Wolves can shed light on that?

ULM gets like 316k from student fees. How does this formula work? Wish we get most of budget covered by student fees.

formula used by USA Today
% of subsidized revenue= [(student fees + direct school funds + indirect school funds + state money allocated to your school's athletics)/Total Revenue] x 100

I got it the reason I asked was because it just said “student fee” before adding what school gives.

Im sure Arkstfan will be able to elaborate much more thoroughly but a lot of it has to do with frequent facilities projects we’ve started and completed in the last few years (and from my understanding those numbers haven’t taken our North endzone project into account)
