I know. You guys were plain angels. Nary a bad word said.
Words, even inappropriate ones that people disagree on are far different than actual actions against individuals.........and we all know that.
Here's how I see it. The way libs are behaving today is the way republicans of the Obama era behaved, but on steroids. The way republicans are behaving today is just like the dems of the Obama era, but on steroids.
If the democrats get major wins in the midterm, then the roles will reverse again, but on steroids.
Now to the point of my first statement: it was about the whining and nothing else.
Ahhh, so you're saying the dynamic is exactly the same... but different. Got it. Look, I have no problem with you expressing this opinion as you are a solid poster who rarely goes in for dramatics and hyperbole but IMO you couldn't be more wrong in contending that these are separate but equal issues. It's your contention to support, so support it with quantifiable proof. Provide us with more than a handful of links of events that occurred over an 8 year period that you consider comparable and I'll provide the same number of links spanning a month or two. I am sticking with my original statement. BS.
The only thing that really bothers me is that he's gone from saying 'there's been a build up and this is what happened before, but on steroids... and what happened before was what happened before that, but on steroids' in the first place, I probably wouldn't have had an issue with it....
but instead he started off by claiming that shooting up a congressional softball game and calling for the denial of services and boycotts etc etc etc is 'the same spit'... and then defended it when challenged.
IOW, Nomad... you're guilty of what you're complaining about... equating (and thus endorsing) what is happening now as simply being 'quid pro quo'. By definition, it's not. It's an escalation and you admit it later.
I think when you reach a point of inciting shootings and of protesting people eating dinner (not protesting Trump, but his spokesperson and everyone who works for him)... that MOST people would agree that we've gone too far.
If you and i get into a car accident (no injuries) and disagree over whose fault it is... and I say something ugly to you and you yell back at me and I get in your face and you push me away and I pull out a gun, I think most people would agree that I went overboard.... took it to a completely unacceptable level. Heck, if I followed you around and with my friends, heckled you wherever you went, I think most people would also agree I went overboard. I KNOW they'd disagree if rather than heckling you, I had people 'refuse service' to your parents and brothers and co-workers.
Maybe you'd disagree with that and call it 'the same thing', but I think you'd be in the vast minority.
