Quote:The government's flagship Brexit legislation has officially become law, Speaker John Bercow has announced.
Mr Bercow told MPs the EU Withdrawal Bill had received royal assent - meaning the Queen has agreed to make it into an Act of Parliament.
The legislation enables EU law to be transferred into UK law in an attempt to ensure a smooth Brexit.
Quote:The EU Withdrawal Act, as it is now known, will also repeal the 1972 European Communities Act, which took Britain into the EU and meant that European law took precedence over laws passed in the UK Parliament.
Sad day for globalists everywhere, a resounding victory for the British people.
RE: The UK takes the next step in regaining their sovereignty
The EU went at least one bridge too far in giving acts of the EU precedence over national law of member nations. The EU parliament's jurisdiction should have been limited to matters of relationships between members, not internal affairs. And like Canada, any individual member should have been able to nullify laws passed by the EU parliament. It was a commercial union and should have remained so. In particular, giving the EU primacy over UK relations with other members of the Commonwealth was inevitably going to create problems.

We have the RINOs, they have the TINOs (Tories In Name Only)
At its core, Brexit is an issue of national independence more than the usual partisan squabbling. So the accurate label for anti-Brexit activists really should be really BINOs (British In Name Only).

Yup
But seems like “give em an inch” ism.
This was a broad attempt at widespread socialism. Somehow, someway, they didn’t or didn’t want to see this.
To paraphrase the late great PM,
You can always count on the UK to do the right thing, after they’ve tried everything else.
Brexit is what told me early on that the Drumpf would win.

His bosom should heave

I agree. It's blatantly obvious.
But at least they're going through the motions. I imagine they'll drag it out as long as possible hoping against hope that the national wind of change begins to blow back in their direction.
