I know you are writing that to push his buttons. Playing JMU would most certainly not be an easy win. They have proven themselves a worthy opponent against FBS competition.

+1

Still would like to have Mike Houston replace Gill after the 2018 season. 02-13-banana

I'm not saying it's a definite but I would consider this his last year if I were a JMU fan. Unless he has some big scandal or completely tanks with his own recruits, both highly unlikely.

I think New Mexico State may become LU's biggest rival especially if LU and NMSU play each other twice each season.

I dont' think so. Distance to far away and NMSU is a mutually beneficial game(s) for both teams who are now indy and nothing else. If ODU fans think 3k approximately will be attending the game in Lynchburg, how many NMSU fans will make the trip here? 500 maybe, or a 1,000 at tops?

500-1000? I am thinking 10-50 N.M. State fans will make that long trip.

RE: Future Football Rival
I don't believe we have games with NMSU scheduled beyond 2019, for whatever reason. We do have several with UMass, ODU, and UVA. All of whom would be great rivals.

I hope that the JMU to the MAC with Marshall pipe dream rumor turns out to be at least partially true for the Dukes, as playing them again would be another great in-state rivalry.
