Two Big XII teams in the top 15, but NO ACC teams? Someone needs to stop taking drugs!

Rather than whine about, ACC teams need to prove them wrong.

I can understand why FSU is not ranked top 15 after their performance in the bowl game and with so many players leaving. Miami always gets the benefit of being Miami and never lives up to their preseason rankings. Clemson has not been themselves lately. I think Louisville loses a few players. There is no team in the league that can make a case that they should be ranked higher than where they are. That said, I think VT and UL may be the top teams in the league next season. And by seasons end, the ACC should have at least a couple teams in the top 15. Its where you finish the season that matters most.

The SEC and BigTen will have many early top 25 matchups = big ratings, the ACC will have few if any till the end of the season = poor ratings. It's a self fulfilling prophecy.

True, but if you start the season out ranked, and you keep winning, the big ratings will follow. The reverse could also happen if you start the season ranked and keep losing.
Then there are some teams that draw good ratings highly ranked or just ranked.

The best way to change this narrative is for ACC teams to specifically beat Top 25 non-conference opponents. The problem with that plan is, most of them don't play ANY ACC teams!

Georgia - Clemson, GT
Ohio St - none
Oregon - none
Texas - none
Alabama - none
Ole Miss - Wake Forest
Notre Dame - FSU, GT, Louisville, Stanford, UVA
Michigan - none
Penn St - none
Mizzou - BC
LSU - none
Utah - none
Oklahoma - none
Kansas St - none
Tennessee - NC State
Okie St - none
Kansas - none
Texas AM - none
Arizona - none

So, this magnifies the importance of these early match-ups:

Week #1:
Clemson vs Georgia (Atlanta)

Week #2:
NC State vs Tennessee (Charlotte)

Week #3:
BC at Mizzou
Ole Miss at Wake Forest

Week #5:
Louisville at Notre Dame

Of course, ultimately, all non-conference games matter, but these carry extra weight.

This use to be true, but the game changed last year.

FSU started the season (week 1) at #8 in the AP and finished #4/#5 (AP/Playoff ranking) with 13-0 including beating 2 SEC teams.

It does not help that the ACC tolerates its media partner trashing the conference weekly.
