They are going to keep pounding Manafort simply because he's saying "No" and maintaining his innocence. That cannot be allowed.

This article makes it sound like this is just more of Mueller's heavy handed tactics. The problem for Mueller is that he is up against someone he can't spend into oblivion. That seems to be why he is trying to freeze his assets, so he can't defend himself against unlimited government resources.

And when this is all said and done, what possible penalties or sanctions does Bueller face for ruining lives over a senseless, wholly political snipe hunt?

That’s a LARGE part of the problem here. He can run around with impunity, chase down parking tickets or decades old, already investigated and cleared charges and bankrupt peoples entire life’s work. Then simply walk away.
Flynn isn’t and wasn’t ever a wealthy man, but was a lifelong public servant (in the right sense of the term, to my knowledge) but had NO chance of fighting this off.
Now? A convicted felon having to sell his house. His “crime”? Being an early part of the Presidents administration.

Criminalizing political, policy or personality differences.

Not a good look, nor good for a democracy.

If/when this all falls apart, Bueller and his merry band of fellow travelers should all be held to account.

But, of course, they won’t be...
