When was the last time we had 9 players overall voted ALL MAC and 4 are on first team?

Plenty of talent spread around this team. Staying healthy, punting improvement, and of course our QB play, are the obvious and well known keys to this team possibly winning 8 games, or simply staying stuck at 5.

Erickson was the fifth RB, not fourth. Athlon put him in the WR column. I don't think it was an accident as they identified him as a RB.

Indeed. 1/2 of the starting defense made the team (5/11).

BTW, question:

If a glass of beer is half full what does that mean?

I wouldn't get into a debate with a Toledo Rocket fan. We've only beaten them once this century.

It's just the Conference numbers would a better indicator of the Defense strength relative to the rest of the MAC. The OOC portion of the schedule can really skew season's stats in either direction. Pass Defense is not as good a metric as Pass Efficiency Defense. And basically I'm not looking for a debate or to talk Rocket FB here.

Funny thing about stats as everyone knows (or should know) how small numbers can get distorted easily.

Army was 1/12 of our stats and 1/4 of our OOC.

They ran for a gazillion yards but threw for ZERO.

So we know who the top Eastern players are going into the season, but who not on this list will step up and get all-mac consideration at the end of the season? Any of the young guys from last year? Any newcomers?

I love college FB. When I lived up north, if Toledo had a night game, you might find me in Ann Arbor, Columbus, etc for noon games and make it back for kick off in the Glass Bowl. Down here in S Fl, I regularly go to see the Canes, FIU, FAU, UF, etc. and watch/listen to all the Toledo games. I also have personal ties to Vandy and UCinn.

I can understand this. I have friends who attend UT, CMU, WMU, BGSU, (heck even Hillsdale and Adrian College) etc. so I will often attend their games when EMU is on the road or having a midweek game. As a result, I follow these teams and enjoy their boards as well for insight as MAC related news is hard to come by.

If one is being a troll then I would see it differently.

Depends on who ends up at QB, and the style of offense we run, but Matt Sexton was impressive in spurts last season. He could have a good year if we go with a pass-heavy style of play again.

I love Erickson, but I still think Breck Turner needs a bigger workload too. Best runner on the team. Could put up big numbers with more carries.

Agreed on Turner. When he gets to the edge quickly, he's damn difficult to catch. Just gotta shake that fumble-itis...

They haven't given him a real shot in 3 years, doubt it starts now. Absolutely agree he is 1 of the 2 best RB's on the roster. Just strange.

BTW, with the Tigers in full rebuild mode, I need some sports entertainment for the off season.

With the help of DVR, I watched the last quarter of the Kentucky game. At one point, late in the 4th quarter, EMU had ONE yard rushing.

Remember one play where Crosby beat the KY OT like a drum a put a real hit on the KY QB, Johnson.

Not a lot of offense in that 4th quarter... I saw one of our OTs get beaten like a drum. On another play a KY DT had his way to the EMU backfield.
