It’s been my experience that getting cute and trying to save your ace for a second game rarely works out. And even if it does, it all but elimines any chance of the guy being used on Sunday if needed.

Truthfully, Coastal doesn't need to throw Bilious. They are in the tournament regardless, so its not like they'd bring him off 3 days rest for a title game.

For UL if won't be; they're gonna throw Schmidt. We didn't have any weather delays like in Boone so the starting rotation would be working on just a day shorter rest than usual.

I am just guessing here, but Gilley will still go with Bilous. He could throw any one of our starters since last Saturday was a complete clusterf--- with App St and playing 2 1/2 games. Hopeck pitched 3, McCambley pitched 5 and Bilous 4.

Coastal won't let this 2.5 games deal go.

Final USA 5 GS 3. I hope Coastal wins this year and gets a top 16 seed. They are the best Sun Belt team this year and deserve a top 16 seed

That matchup had no business happening in the round of 8. Thank you, dumb*** divisional format.

That option probably went away with the late loss to App.

The Divisional format did not cost you that game. Nor does it explain the strange decision to not throw your ace against one of the better offensive teams in the league.

Our #1 pitcher hurt his arm last Thur vs Ga St. I think he is done for this year. Our chances in this tourney this year were low anyway and Eichhorn being out makes them even lower. I think if Coastal wins this tourney their chances of hosting are pretty good

Coastal leads UTA 1-0 Bottom 4. Seth Lancaster, who has by far the best mustache in the league, hits an oppo taco.

Probably one of the dumber comments I've seen here lately. If teams were seeded by record, and not the "dumb*** divisional format" you keep whining about, then you would have been #4 and UL #5. You would have been facing the SBC pitcher of the year in G1 at home at night with a large UL contingent vs your Saturday guy. Doubtful you would have faired any better than you did this morning.

Coastal up 5-0. UTA used a bunch of pitchers yesterday, and its coming back to bite them.

That and Coastal is you know...really good.

Coastal wins 12-2 in 8 innings. Fell apart late for UTA. Was a 1-0 game through 5.

Making Coastal play 2.4 games last Saturday really put the hurting on their pitching staff, eh.

We'll see down the stretch; this is the first game they play. You can't make that assumption after one game.

Is there a mercy rule for the tourney? Is it 10 runs? And after what inning?
