• Rows of seating with drink rails.

• Another level of standing area with entry to a concourse.

RE: Stadium Renovation and Construction Thread
Camp Randall has a weird student seating system where everyone has to go single file and the student section never fills up until almost halftime.

They also have weird rules like you can't stand on the concourse (behind a rope behind handicapped seating) to watch the game even when there's zero concourse traffic and there's no handicapped people to stand behind, which would help in taking a breather from 20 degrees.

It's the least fan friendly stadium I've been.

The Legacy Arena (formerly known as the BJCC) will undergo major renovations starting next April. The new stadium will be located next to the arena so the whole Birmingham Uptown Area will look completely different by the end of 2021.

The steel trusses are proceeding along at the Dome in Syracuse. The next 6-8 weeks will bring the hard winter and installing these trusses, some weighing as much as a small airliner, will be treacherous.

Two different views of the ongoing construction

BTW, the UAB stadium looks really well designed above.

I expect construction to slow considerably over the next 6-8 weeks as the Syracuse winter will kick in. So far the weather has been decent save for a fair amount of windy days which can cause to cranes to lay down

They are setting a piece on the roof today. The roof truss is starting to take shape. Hopefully it will be done in the next 6-8 weeks

Joeben69: So they are grabbing some of stadium land for apartments, retail, etc? Will there be enough parking for games? It appears they have given up on the NFL ever coming back to that spot.

From the Initiative

“Construction of the Joint Use Stadium shall be completed not later than seven years from the date of execution of the sales agreement. The new Aztecs Stadium would also have adjacent and convenient parking and include all the amenities expected of a sports stadium – proximity to campus and trolley access, an intimate fan-experience design, enhanced game-day experience for fans, premium seating, access to technology, community gathering areas, local foods and beverages.”
https://sdsuwest.org/facts/stadium

there's also going to be a reliance on public transportation to get to-and-from the sdsu west stadium site...
Plans for the Mission Valley site include:

* 1.6 million square feet of academic and research/innovation space, affording technology transfer between companies and SDSU researchers;
* More than 80 acres of open space with a river park, athletic and recreational fields, and more than 4 miles of hiking and biking trails;
* Approximately 4,600 residential units, including student, faculty, and staff housing, as well as, affordable, workforce, and market-rate housing;
* A 35,000 capacity multi-use stadium for college football, professional soccer, other sports, concerts and events; expandable for NFL football;
* 95,000 square feet of campus- and neighborhood-serving retail shops and business services;
* 400 hotel rooms and 40,000 square feet of conference space that will accommodate campus visitors and serve as an incubator for students in SDSU's L. Robert Payne School of Hospitality and Tourism Management.
* Approximately 6,000 parking spaces for public and game-day use along with additional spaces as required for housing and retail.
