This board has become that group of old retired guys sitting around a McDonald’s drinking their .99 coffees talking about how much better things were back in their day. So much fun.

I remember when some of us old fart senior citizens got our coffee for free. Aaaahhhh, the good old days of McDonald's and Huskie football!

Now, you REALLY have to be an aged old fart to remember the good old days of Huskie basketball!

I can't wait for the days when I hobble into McDonald's with my tennis ball laden walker, sit down with my cup of coffee, and watch the games on ESPN+ on my iPhone. Then the group of us sitting there can talk about the good old days when all we had was scratchy radio that we could barely hear even with aluminum foil on the antenna.

Yes, except when I had to change the tubes.

I have to say that now you’re at least making senility something to look forward too! Dementia, sweet dementia.

Don't forget to order a $0.15 hamburger (adjusted for inflation). I don't think that they ever sold weiners though so don't get your hopes up.

Senility is nothing to look forward to. Especially when you go to the bathroom and forget why you went in there. Then, a few minutes later, you pee in your pants.

Well hey if that conversation at the McDonalds involves talking about wins against nationally ranked opponents and attendance figures in the mid 20 thousands, please reserve my seat at the table, and add me an order of hotcakes while you are at it.

What would be cool, speaking of recollecting on old times, would be to have another "Big Weekend" a la Toledo football and DePaul basketball. I know that did not work out so well results wise, but you had many people introduced to NIU athletics that weekend, and many that would never attend a basketball game who went to the game. Its probably impossible long shot to do with the scheduling difficulty, but I really feel the NIU fanbase needs a kick start , just something to get people interested again. Once you get that bait and hook , it might be all you need for things to take off.

Makes a lot of sense. That's why you won't see them do it. Plus, Toledo may never be on a Saturday again in our lifetime as long as the ESPN disaster keeps getting renewed. Also, when basketball starts (November), we play nothing but weeknight games. If they could ever schedule a Saturday November game, pairing it with a marquee basketball game makes a ton of sense from a marketing standpoint. Hopefully, if and when that happens, we'll have a decent basketball team.

I wonder if Michigan State would return a trip to DeKalb. What that would do for the NIU fanbase would be unreal. You would probably add 500 season ticket holders just from that game. Come on Izzo, you owe it to coach Monty!
