You forgot to include that GAST's new baseball facility will be built in the old footprint of Fulton County Stadium where the Braves won the World Series. Once, they get that ballpark built, I think it'll take GAST from worst to first as far as baseball facilities go.

First? What, are they building something like what LSU has?

I meant first in the conference or at least top tier. Nobody in the Sun Belt has what LSU has.

No nothing like LSU. There's no way we devote so much resources toward baseball after building up GSU Stadium ($300mil~ estimated) and the new bball arena ($80mil~ estimated). The new baseball field will be small, practical, and accessible. Looks pretty though, good enough for me. Wouldn't mind watching baseball while laying on that grass

I agree with this, it may be nice, but it is nothing close to what Louisiana and Coastal have. I would go as far as Top 3, but no higher than 3.

I think Texas State had a really nice ballpark as well.

I still think having a stadium in the footprint of an MLB stadium of a World Series team is pretty effing cool. That's something unique to GAST that Coastal and ULL will never have. I'm comfortable enough in my own fandom and GS's facilities that I can admit that without putting it down. Just saying.

I think its a great idea for GAST to use an existing structure however the area around the stadium is super sketchy

$300mil is for the surrounding area too. Private companies are also buying up properties in the neighborhood to open luxury apartments, grocery chains, retail stores, bars, restaurants, etc. Surface Streetcars will have new stations there for convenience. It will be a nice area and I'd love to move there once it's all done.

A little known fact...
our outfield wall was the same wall used at Atlanta Fulton County Stadium.

The coolest thing, to me, is that Ga State is going to include the Hank Aaron 715th Home Run Wall into their baseball park designs. That will definitely give them something unique.

Any idea when ground breaking will start? Also, those renderings don't seem to show any parking lots. Is there not going to be much of a tailgate scene?

Hence why the Braves built a brand new stadium on the opposite side of town. The renderings look nice, but it's going to take a lot more than putting a few apartments over the old Braves parking lots to clean that area up.

Looks like a few parking decks in the plans. If tailgating really ever becomes a thing at State, I'm sure there will be sidewalk space and some green space to set up a tent. Georgia Tech fans do it like that.

Build it. Then we'll see.

Someone told me it's 5-7 years away when I was there a couple of weeks ago.
