Because this is the kind of talent UC would have to attract in order to be a viable candidate for P5 expansion. It emphasizes the gulf between the expectations of fans on this board and reality.

Isn't this the guy who hates the football program? Dude wants to cut it and go full Xavier, pour everything into basketball. He's had it explained numerous times how ill-advised and disadvantageous that would be. Can't seem to let it go.

Got to keep that mediocre FB at all costs--even if it sends us into an inferior conference and chokes off our ability to get top droor recruits due to mediocre coaching and competition.

I totally get it--your bunch is absolutely wedded to FB no matter what.

I've got a project for you...compare the winning percentage lifetime for the FB and MBB program and tell me where UC's bread is buttered. Then explain to me how a mediocre history and tradition in FB will attract top droor blue-chip recruits that can win a NC in FB.

You can't.

The only conclusion I can draw is that you'd rather be middle of the pack FB at best and watch MBB die rather than put the bulk of resources into MBB and reap perennial success...and don't give me the "we can do both" garbage...because you can't, and haven't, and won't as long as you plant the lion's share of resources into mediocre FB.

While you are at it, list for me the schools that have multiple NC's in both revenue sports......they ain't many...and there's a reason for that.

Will never drop football. Ever. Dropping football would put UC in the category of community colleges like Xavier and Gonzaga. No football = no national profile. No thanks. Go Cats.

Olivier Rioux is a 6-foot-10 French basketball player, so he’s taller than all the other 12-year-olds. This gives him a, shall we say, decided advantage on the court. Even more so because the league he’s in appears to be using hoops way shorter than the regulation 10 feet.

Re: the kid in the original video, there’s a point where height is no longer an advantage. How many seven footers play pro football? Zero. If that kid keeps getting taller he needs to get leaner and take up basketball.
