Sam Hurd. Any man who can become a drug kingpin while playing in NFL has to be tough. Too soon? #Freesamhurd

Klake, this is probably the best answer on here. Great call.

Mark Kellar from the early 1970's should be on this list.

RE: Toughest Huskies?
I mean, Lynch was definitely one of the toughest Huskies of all-time, but we all know that. I really loved watching Lynch play... such a tough, blue-collar type of player. Loved when he ran the ball.... he delivered HITS to the defenders.

I saw someone mention Stingily as well. I definitely agree with that. Guy was a BRUISER. Another one who delivered hits to the defenders.

Ward is another one.

I have a lot of respect for TEs and others who don't get the notoriety. I really like Winman a lot. Dude was tough and was a good blocker.

Go Huskies

Chad Spann was a tough one. I remember watching him breaking through tackles constantly and diving into the endzone to get those TDs. I don't even remember him being out with an injury.

I forget his name but he was a small white guy who played safety in the mid seventies. He didn't look like he could weigh much more than 150 pounds. I remember him wearing red Chuck Tayler converse high tops. Always thought he must be tough pound for pound.

From what I hear, Chad Beebe played his last 4 games of his career with broken ribs. That's crazy tough

Jordan Lynch.

Honorable mention goes to the player a while back who had his knee pop out in warmups and played. Don't remember who it was.

The Carpentersville Cruncher beat out Archie Griffith, Tony Dorsett, and Jim Cappalletti for the 1973 NCAA rushing title.

How has no one mentioned Chandler Harnish? He wasn't as physical as Lynch, but he did his fair share of running and took his fair share of hits. He also came back from a brutal knee injury, having his best seasons after there would doubts he'd ever be able to play again.

Or the way he came back into the game after getting hurt in the Go Daddy Bowl (the last bowl NIU won). Mr Miyagi must have been in the locker room rubbing his hands together doing his heat healing trick.
