Only brought back memories of my Stats classes in mid 80's Pride! Only posted in fun and was not meant condemn your point. Thankfully was a Finance grad and not English!

Good discussion all around. We can all agree on the main point though of wanting to see Huskies do well.

About the only classes I apply routinely, daily are Gordon Hilton's 300 level POLS classes which was basically STATS and I think the other was ECON 363.

Not to get too off topic... but I was a POLS major when I went to NIU. Hilton might have been before my time though.

LOL I took Gordon Hilton's 340 class one Summer. 2 days a week for 3 hours a time! Got an A but it was a tough class! He was a great teacher from what I remember and the class was a requirement for the BS degree back then.

Hasn't been mentioned yet, but there are two undrafted Huskies currently having solid pro careers: TommyLee Lewis and Rashaan Melvin. Plus I believe Tim Semisch just signed a two-year deal with the Titans. It happens.
I love TommyLee but I think his roster spot is in serious jeopardy this season. Melvin was at the spring game. He's put together a solid career.

Don't remind me of Semisch. He made one of the greatest catches I have ever seen from Huskie against. My gosh, too bad we didn't have the offensive scheme at that time to take advantage of his talents.Very under utilized as a HUSKIE.

I agree. This might be the end for TommyLee unless he adds another dimension to his game. Lots of talented young guys coming for his spot. I knew Melvin would turn out to be a stud since is first playing time at NIU.

I got an A in one I think, B in the other. Needed it for my POLS minor.
I remember every day he would come into class and say "good morning campers."
I believe he was a fan of The Who. That's the opening of the song Tommy's Holiday Camp. Never did ask him.

I got to know him fairly well in that Summer class. One Monday he came in wearing a Eric Clapton shirt who had played at Alpine Valley that weekend. Turned out he grew up with Eric, and knew him fairly well. I recall him saying. he was glad Eric was now clean and sober because he had gone thru some rough times in the 70's (Clapton was a heroin addict and withdrew from music at one point in the early 70's)

Outside of him having a bad attitude at NIU and staying in the doghouse with Carey, he really was poorly used as a running back. Hope he makes the most of this shot. He was definitely top three running back in the MAC last year.

Huff was certainly dynamic and explosive, but what he lacked compared to a back like Hunt is consistency. His opportunities were limited by Carey’s stubbornness, but when he did get his chance he didn’t really capitalize.

He capitalized. He had a little less than half of Hunt's carries but still he had 333 carries. And he averaged 6.5 ypc vs. Hunt's 6.3 for his career. He also averaged 16.7 carries per TD vs. Hunt's 17.8 carries per TD. And his senior year once Santa was benched we didn't have a deep threat to soften up the defense.
I think he was very nearly the runner Hunt was - about the other stuff - attitude, etc. I don't know much about that.

Huff never had that breakout year. His most carries in a season were equal to Hunts freshman year Which was his lowest. It’s hard to stand out as a college RB with only 700 yards rushing. Hunt put together a couple 1,500 yard seasons. Huff could have done that last year if he stayed healthy.
