It didn't because you can't help but laugh when the illegally self-proclaimed flagship finds itself ranked 11 spots from rock bottom. A fall which has been ongoing pretty much since September 6, 2014, on 1st and 10 from the Tech 1 with 4:39 left in the 1st quarter. 99 yards and 14 seconds later the downhill slide was well underway.

"Louisiana" acceptance has starting to sink in! 04-rock but he is correct about the fall, which is why we have a new coach this year. now as far as this ranking, its a way too early preseason guess from a orlando newspaper. just have to let the games play out.

I am just an ignorant person from Virginia who simply wrote out how it was in the article. I didn't realize there was a debate about the name. "Louisana" didn't make me think of a flagship program in the state, but I did have to google it to make sure it was the same thing as Louisana Lafayette or Monroe or whatever it is. After looking into it, I still wasn't sure, so I just put what the article listed. I always thought LSU was the big school of the state. Not sure if this helps or not.

"Louisiana" is the chosen athletic branding of the University of Louisiana Lafayette, many Cajun fans take it further calling their school "UL", which is innacurate.

Personally, I prefer ULL and ULM. Maybe because they could easily be converted into "LaLa" and "LaMo"

I know, I've suffered through F_U for a decade. But, you know what, I am over it. Now, I find it funny.

This helps

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_co..._Louisiana

I should note that before ODU joined CUSA, I had only heard of LSU, La Tech, and Tulane. And I assumed their athletic power in that order.

I am unsure if these statements are going to make everyone from the state of Louisiana hate me today. Perhaps I am bored and I'm asking for it.

As long as you realize it. I think Cajun fans hate ULaLa more than FAU and FIU fans hate f_u.

This is also the first time I've heard or seen someone use ULaMo.

What are we doing talking about the 118th ranked football team from another conference on this board?

Coming in at 129 is UTEP. Uncle Matt obviously does not see any improvement for the Miners over last year. At 128 is Texas State. Welcome aboard, Sun Belt. Our second C-USA team into the mix at a heady 127 is Rice, as the Owls are expected to struggle again this year. Just for something different, the MAC joins the early entrants with Kent State in at 126. So this is what we have for now.

126. Kent State
127. Rice
128. Texas State
129. UTEP

I'm going to hold off on conference projections for a while, but I will be trying to give my daily updates as Uncle Matt shares his gridiron genius. Hmm -- two of the bottom four. Oh well.

My bold prediction is that UTEP will be improved, more competitive, win more than 1 game and be on it's way to becoming a solid program in the years to come. You heard it here first and actually, this may be the only place you will hear it.
