I thought isom has been off for a while. Parchment would have seen the field this year imo. Surprised he left.

Dissapointed about Isom. He played very well as a Freshman but sat out last year. I'm guessing the fact that he sat out didn't help him. I suspect NIU will give him a year at JUCO to get his grades up then will take him back.

I would say little to zero chance either of these kids are ever back and I have a feeling another kid will be joining them before fall camp

Randy, a transfer from a school that will play right away?

I interpreted randy's post as another player will be joining the others in leaving the program.

Very rarely do they come back to NIU after going the Juco route.... Would be nice though.

LOL there's no chance Isom will be back. Once you're gone, you're gone... That's too bad. The kid had some talent.

NEXT MAN UP.

Go Huskies!

Randy's always got pretty good info. Too bad things don't work out but as you know, there's always more going on behind the scenes.

RE: Isom to transfer to Juco.
We had a great defense on paper going into the season, first JJ now Isom. How deep are we there? Should there be cause for concern on Defense?

We do not have veteran depth at either linebacker or cornerback. Kyle Pugh, Antonio Jones-Davis and Lance Deveaux have seen varying degrees of game action at linebacker but after them it's youngsters. Fortunately Rayshawn Gay, Jordan Cole and Danny Walker look like they're coming along nicely, and maybe some incoming freshmen like Joe Bonds and Kewan Parker can help too.

Similar situation at corner. Albert Smalls and Jalen Embry have played a lot. Tifonte Hunt hasn't played much but is a fifth year guy who can hopefully help some. Antwain Walker and Devin Haney are in school and participating in spring ball which is huge for their development. Maybe Justin Hall or other incoming freshmen will contribute. The freshmen have talent but the depth situation at corner is definitely scary. Losing Isom really hurt.

The good news is the D-line looks terrific and they will make everyone else better. We should be really strong at safety too.

RE: Isom to transfer to Juco.
Joe Burrow is officially leaving OSU and has 2 years left as a grad transfer. Hope we at-least put a feeler out there and that he doesn't go to Ohio U where is dad is a coach.

Ohio is pretty set at QB for the next two years so it's unlikely he goes there

Really, what are the chances he would pick NIU over Ohio where his dad is a coach and in the same state where he has played? Assuming, of course, that Ohio would want him.

LOL, Ohio is an afterthought when this kid has potential landing spots at Florida, LSU or UCLA. That being the case, what word would you use to describe our chances of landing this kid which are less than an afterthought?

I would say less than the chance of finding a tiny zit in one of the fat folds of a morbidly obese 600 lb. person.

Have a nice dinner, folks!
