Article in Kent Stater today had the top three in various categories for the athletic teams during the last season.

Top men’s teams- basketball 1, baseball 2 and football 3???? Sadly other than golf this might be accurate although I would have baseball at 1.

Top women’s teams - gymnastics 1, basketball 2???? and volleyball 3 (5-22 record). I guess soccer, field hockey and golf are no longer varsity sports.


Top men athlete was Jaylin Walker (seems kind for the season he had)

Top women athlete was Rachel Stypinski (good choice)

Biggest moment was Conel finishing 3rd in wrestling. Also a good choice.

Football at #3...

Wrestling team finished 22nd in the country with an All-american.

Yeah according to him 5 of our six top teams are at or below 0.500. It obviously was not one of Kent’s best seasons but whoever did this was a bit off. They did not even get one of the women’s teams right.

I guess that’s no different than most elections.

It’s more “what’s your favorite KSU sport?” than “which KSU sport has the best team?”
