Not sure why it’s his fault we lost that game...

That game wasn’t a fluke. If anything, it epitomized our season.

Because when he was required to actually use his arm like an actual QB he had nothing.. not to mention the fumbled snap earlier in the game when we were marching in from the 5.... yeah he had nothing to do with the loss... you’re right. 03-banghead

I don't think he was saying that Goddard didn't play a role, but, We still had a two touchdown lead in the 4th quarter when the team imploded.

Any coach will tell you turnovers in part are a lack of focus. Did WMU look focused in the 2nd half? Absolutely not. Turnovers, missed assignments, bad tackling, and a lack of killer instinct.

They snatched the game from us because in the 4th quarter they were still trying to win a football game, and our guys were thinking about something else.

RE: 2018-19 Predictions
I just think it’s completely unfair to pin that loss on Goddard and use the “backup QB” excuse when we were in complete control of that game for 50 out of 60 minutes. Goddard doesn’t deserve to be the scapegoat. I blame our defense and our coaching way before I even remotely consider Goddard’s role in that loss.

I honestly don't remember Goddard having anything to do with allowing Shane Morris to throw the ball all over the field with incredible success!! Goddard wasn't good and definitely a huge part of that loss but I can't solely blame him for it.

Not too far off, but EMU will be better than the bottom half of the MAC. And Ohio might be the best team in the MAC this year.

True, but the same can be said for Toledo and yet everyone thinks they're going to be amazing.

Also, EMU got a transfer QB from Iowa this offseason.

Georgia State 50/50 chance to beat any MAC team in Atlanta. Transforming their program fast. Speed, more speed.

EMU #2 is laughable. EMU had WMU beaten if not for a senseless clipping made by our WR who is out of the play late in the 4th nullifying his teammate game winning TD.

Laughable.

Where do you see your squad then on that list? Who do you think should be #2 then?

RE: 2018-19 Predictions
Dear Bronco'14,
Just my two cents, but Ball State, Bowling Green, or Central could all fit the number two position. Maybe even Miami. Yes, Eastern will have an unexperienced quarterback, and I have stated in the past that the MAC is a league that whoever has the best quarterback, will have a good shot at winning the league championship. However, that also doesn't mean that just because a team may be unexperienced at a particular position doesn't mean that they cannot be competitive.

Agreed. Rarely does a QB jump up and stun the MAC. Look at last two seasons. Senior QBs got the rings. Not enough depth on MAC teams at QB. Someone might surprise but it's rare.

Realistically I see EMU as #9 tied with Ohio. I project EMU's defense will be the best in the MAC.

What’s misunderstood in the MAC is a good defense... this is a good year to get EMU at home.

RE: 2018-19 Predictions
Saying EMU is the second "easiest" team on the schedule was probably the wrong words to use.

It's the second most popular choice for a Bronco win, but I bet most who selected EMU as a win expects a one possession outcome.

Being at Waldo is playing a big role in that survey, obviously. The next several teams, who I'd say might not be as strong as EMU, are all on the road.

Although Waldo wasn't exactly kryptonite to our opponents last year (Akron, CMU, the Idaho struggle).

Realistically I see 6 wins. The 6 losses are: Syracuse, Michigan, Georgia St., Ohio, Toledo and N. Illinois

Georgia St and Ohio being the best chances for improvement. 8 - 4 is possible and if this happens we should all be very happy.
