I really think this is the reason why the University in the past has shy away from the FDL. We need to embrace it and make it our primary logo.

I think the GSU community really embraced the Panther Head logo as our own. I prefer it too because it is clean and sharp. It is also simple and marketable. As previously mentioned, this logo has the potential to be uniquely iconic for GSU over time. The royal blue (btw really thankful for a good school color) really helps it "pop out"


nah GS helmet isn't ugly. I admit, it's hard to get excited about your helmet, but I understand the "vintage" theme going on there. Not exciting...but it works and looks fine.

I admit it. I liked the GSU helmet. The GSU helmet with this color scheme would've been awesome.

I actually like the black helmet too but i'm a minority lol. panther fans seem to hate it when we bring it out once a year

Speaking of alternates, I thought our white helmets and white unis were nice.

I chose Troy's T. I also really like UL's FDL helmet.

Although I prefer black, for some reason I like stAte's red helmet with all red uni's or red/red/black.

Not to stir up the name debate again, but they are NOT officially the University of Louisiana now. With that said I do like
The FDL and agree they should use it. One of my favorite quotes by a Cajun fan once was when asked why they didn’t use the tri-fleur helmet anymore, he said because it makes us 3 times worse than the Saints. Obviously that was pre-Brees and the Saints becoming relevant and winning a Super Bowl.

Will the school EVER be known as the "Univ of Louisiana?" Don't know, and very doubtful I live that long anyway!
Simply using "Louisiana" for athletics as a "brand" seems to be "OK" from a legal standpoint. But I agree with Arrowhead on this - let's not get into a name game.
Back on topic - I really liked the large FDL helmet when it came out. Still like it. And the FDL is part of our legacy (see school flag). But probably not a favorite of main stream Cajun fans.

it’s the most recognizable symbol outside of Cajun Country. We need to just embrace it. FDL should be our primary logo, it’s a symbol like Clemson’s Paw, or Kansas St. Wildcat. FDL screams Louisiana.

Haha don’t open them can of worms! Just messing, I really do like ULM helmets they do pop, and to me in the top 3. Our problem is brand recognition, and we need to be able to capitalize on it and that’s the FDL all the way.

I like either of those Louisiana lids. Some logos get far to complicated. Simple and clean is best for a helmet.

The fluer de lis is too large, but would look really good if it was 50% - 75% the current size.
