SBC Football & Basketball Budgets
Came across some interesting info from a Rivals message board about each schools budget in football and men's basketball. They were apparently gathered from U.S. Dept of Education Data Analysis for the 2016 academic year:

SBC's basketball fund is depresssing. Yes, Georgia State needs to step up too. Around $4mil would be respectable but still won't crack top 100

There needs to be some kind of normalization for scholarship costs.

ULM at the bottom of both, not surprising

South fans are depressed right now. Putting all of that money into football and nothing but middle of the pack year after year. Hopefully it turns around for you soon Jags!

I'm surprised Troy leads the league in money going toward basketball. Troy's really made a big investment in basketball since opening Trojan Arena.

No wonder our basketball program is always near the bottom of the league.

That's not necessarily a bad thing, given the amount of these budgets that are funded by taxpayers and the students.

No one does more with less than ULM. They lose 20 million LESS per year (or 200 million less over a 10 year period) on athletics than some other Sun Belt schools. They squeeze Sun Belt membership and FBS football out of a mid range Southland budget. Quite frankly, I'd love to see what your AD could do with South Alabama's budget if we need to replace Erdmann.

I can’t tell if you’re trolling or just ignorant. We started a football program from scratch. 10 years ago we didn’t own a chin strap. Now we have 2 practice fields (grass and artificial), athletic offices, weight training facilities, indoor practice facility will be complete in a few months, and sponsoring full scholarships and full stipends. While all of that was being put in place we’ve been to 2 bowl games, beaten an SEC team and a top 25 team and fired a coach that was .500 every year. I’d say we’re pretty pumped at this point.

It should have been obvious that App has a pittance of a budget for basketball from the fact that the High Country Grizzlies draw more fans to HCC than the App State basketball team.

And that's sad.
