Record year on the diamond?
The baseball Trojans won 33 games in 1990 and 2000, which remains the program record for wins in a season. We are currently 20-14 (.588) and have 20 games remaining, counting at least one in the tournament. If we were to win at the same pace over those 20 games, that translates (rounded up) to 12 more wins, putting us within one of the record. However, we lost 8 of our first 15 games, and in conference play have lost only the Ga Southern series, which means we are picking up speed.

According to Warren Nolan, we are currently 53rd out of 297 teams in RPI. And the nice thing about Belt baseball is that we don't get completely killed in RPI in conference play, since Troy is above us, and UL is also in the top 100. At the moment we are alone in first place in the West, although Coastal and USA have better records in the East.

Having baseball get hot is a VERY good thing for this athletic program, since we are generally in the bottom half in most sports.

RE: Record year on the diamond?
Interesting set-up for the rest of the season. We play 3 series against the best teams in the league (USA, ULL, and CC) and 2 series against the worst teams (both ASUs). ULL has struggled, but they have won 8 of their last 9, and are likely still among the league's 4 best teams.
