RE: Nice Det News article
Yay offseason coverage!

"He led the Mid-American Conference in completion percentage (.642) at the time of his injury, throwing for 1,411 yards and 14 TDs and had a strong spring."

A tentative passer with receivers who couldn't catch a cold sometimes was still leading the conference in completion percentage and had a great TD/INT ratio. Part of that was our shorter passing game, but if we can get the deep ball to work, this can be an extremely dangerous offense, returning 10 starters basically.

We have a boatload of good receivers, but we really need one to be the go-to guy. Watson was heading there last season.

Interesting read. Thanks for posting.

Just hope we're not going with pro-set. Need to spread-n-shred in the MAC with the QB having fun in the gun.

Agreed. Need to throw early and often. Once that happens our running game will flourish and guys will have big holes all over.

The data tells coach that throwing to the QB works often too.

Sure didn't help last year. That team had more injuries than any other I can think of in recent memory...across all MAC teams.

It was interesting how he indicated that last season we only had ONE soft tissue injury... I am not sure how that applies to the destruction of our near entire backfield...

There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies and statistics.

No soft tissue injuries? Well thank god for that.

What about the dozen lower leg injuries that decimated our skill positions?

I think you have to look at this stuff over the course of a few years, not a single season. In Fleck's first year our team was horribly decimated in Spring ball. His middle seasons seemed unremarkable. His last season we had ridiculously few injuries.
