Who does LU align with it's FB broadcast?
With LU being indy, who does LU sell to, partner with, quasi partner with, on it's home football games. No more Big South Network. I see this as a great opportunity for LU to produce the games for online viewing and partner with an established network, or create an affiliate organization for broadcast.

It just seems like a sweet heart potential deal with LU assuming the production responsibility and cost and mostly just seeking a network or group to broadcast the product.

With Fox selling off many of it's assets, they appear to want to go all-in with their sports programming by basically keeping only Fox Sports 1 and 2 after big Fox. Fox has deals with the Big Ten, Pac 12, and Big 12 which doesn't cover Virginia, not that Liberty is a super draw at the moment. But if LU can keep getting home games against ACC schools, that could be attractive to Fox to get coverage in states they typically don't.

I think Fox would be a good partner. I would see if CBS Sports was interested. With Army having a deal with CBS Sports. Granted, the Army vs Navy game is a big factor in that agreement. I think it would be an option. I think UMASS was with Eleven Sports. I would like to see a bigger name than Eleven though.

As a Roku user, I read yesterday about ESPN+ and got on the ESPN+ website prior to writing this post. The good news. Only $5 a month initially. The other news. The ESPN+ website was VERY sparse with listing live programming. Below is one of the promo pieces:

"ESPN+ Has Live Sports Covered
A selection of live games from MLB, MLS and NHL throughout the regular season. Select PGA TOUR golf, Top Rank Boxing and Grand Slam tennis events including Wimbledon, US Open and Australian Open. Plus college football, basketball, lacrosse, softball and more"

The ad does mention college football without any school or conference mention. Hmmm. I would be very interested to hear from others who select the service and their likes and dislikes.

And I would hope the LU games would be created/picked up by a group for broadcast rather than online only as ESPN+.

I’m satisfied with being able to watch games on Watch ESPN. Works for me. But it would be cool to be on a regular TV channel, even though thise are going out of style I think. Whatever we can do to reach the most viewer households is good.

Isn't ESPN+ replacing ESPN 3? If not, I am confused why they would still offer "free" content. I know ESPN+ struck a deal with the Ivy League. Not sure who else. It wouldn't be the worst for LU to sign with them but I don't want to pay more for the channel.

As a cord cutter, I've weaned myself away from the ESPN must-have gauntlet. With so many avenues to watch highlights, and with so many conference, team and online choices, the business model of ESPN is fading from it's glory, must watch past. About a month ago I got ESPN, which I watch through Roku, and seldom view it, other than to watch Tony and Michael on PTI. Granted it is late April and things will gear up in the fall when FB begins. I know I'll be watching a lot more ESPN then than now. But the ESPN+ offering seems to me a nondescript, low service offering unless it brings some popular teams or conferences to the fold. And as far as highlights, all one needs to do is to check out CBSSports.com, Youtube or numerous other offerings.

Does anyone have any idea when LU will announce their TV broadcast for the ODU game? I'm betting, and hoping an announcement is coming very soon. One would have thought that would have been determined and announced by now. July is almost here and Sept is quickly approaching.

It's 3 weeks plus to kick off and still no announcement of where the LU/ODU game is going to be broadcast (out of area, not local). Or did I miss this and nobody has posted it?

Only two of Liberty's games have announced their broadcast partners. LU is probably negotiating and will at least get ESPN 3 coverage for home games. Maybe they will get ESPN+ but I would rather not have to pay for it.

RE: Who does LU align with it's FB broadcast?
Just before this post I checked the ESPN+ schedule. It at present extends to August 28. It has about 99% of listings of things I never watch. As a cord cutter, it would be ideal if + included FB of interest. One would think LU would fit the bill as a non conference indy. I look forward to watching the ODU game from afar and not at the stadium.

Looks like the first month of home games is on ESPN3. That's great news to me so I don't have to add a new subscription. We'll see about the rest of the season.

I don't have an article about it but I saw on the ESPN app when I scrolled through the schedule.
