I can't remember, but I think grades kept Billy Smith out of the game.

Billy was no where near McD all American but he was one of my favorite Tigers ever to watch.

Anthony Douglass was a McDonald's All-American. They would be higher than Lomax and Harris. Impact wise as well, Big 6 was a key part of the defense for our Elite 8 run. We could use a player like Big 6 now.

It was mentioned before, but I didn’t acknowledge Douglas as a McD AA like I didn’t mention Vaughn was one.

My question was more about not knowing how highly recruited Billy Smith was.

I went to East after we went to the elite eight. I was shocked to find out Douglas was a McD AA (his Jersey was in a trophy case) and wondered why he didn’t do more. I remember when he took Mundt’s starting spot at center and it was considered an upset. But looking back, he was a friggin’ McD’s all-American! He should have been a four year starter!

Told me Coach Kirk wouldn't promise his son a starting spot his his freshman year.

SDSU promised him as many minutes as he wanted.

Yes. I stand corrected.

Actually bought answers are right though Price was a package deal that had to be honored to get Lee. Ricky was from southern KY area and wanted to go to KY but couldn’t get an offer. He was a great shooter and in a Western KY type situation could have averaged 15-20 ppg.

This would be a great debate. Only thing JJ and CC have on Lomax and Tyler HS careers is height. Lomax is more accomplished winning 3 state titles and 2 TSSAA POY awards and Tyler winning one. JJ and CC could score better but this would be a great topic. There scoring career at Memphis mirrored each other, I would call it a success. Hopefully, Tyler and Lomax get to a S16 and beyond.
