You don't tell a coach that you expect TOP 10 RESULTS out of who he can or can't hire.

If the NCAA clears a guy to coach then he is a hirable candidate.

Agree. It’s not a program killer but certainly is a slap in the face to our new coach who, with the turnoud in revenue already beginning, may have saved Bowens and Rudd’s job. Yes Rudd. If basketball revenue had not been fixed, Rudd would have quirely left in the next year or two. $20M a year fix eventually. I guess Penny too much of a gentleman to use that as leverage to get Brown.

I am not as "in the know" as some that post here and I have no inside info but to me I thought Penny was pretty much given the keys to the castle to turn this around and now a very important link to his immediate success has been removed. I don't know Larry Brown but I think it would have been better to not offer him anything than this BS position. As my mom used to say "what in the he11 were they thinking?"

Yeah the NCAA really showed UNC not to cheat. If they do it again, the NCAA may just punish them by giving SMU the death penalty.

They knew he was seriously thinking about picking Larry, why not tell him from the very beginning before he took the job ‘no’ about Larry?

Why did they use false information that Larry had a show-cause to tell Penny why he couldn’t hire him?

Why offer something less than what Larry and Penny wanted? Either it’s a yes or a no not a weak half-hearted offer

Bowen might have his shortcomings but maybe not everything is his fault.

Larry Brown is not the reason we’ll be a top 10 program. As you said, reading comprehension is key. It’s all about getting top level recruits. Penny will get those and the wins will come.
