That’s cool. But we don’t need Larry Brown to have a top 10 program. Btw Saul misses you.

Also dial down the temper tantrums lol

Agree 100%. And I'm a huge Bowen guy. I just don't get this at all, tbh.

Caulkins won't have too. Hearing penny is pushing back and was livid the article came out about the take it or leave it consultant job. This isn't a good look. And will only make future dealings with bowen and penny more complicated.

That's why I said in another thread.

I don’t know where you got your info from but I couldn’t have seen Penny signed off on offering his mentor the consultant job. So this public offer was a pure in-around without Penny’s knowledge?

So, now the target is supposed to be Trent Johnson?

A perennial loser who made two total Sweet 16's in 30 years.

This has to be some kind of sick joke.

How can Penny run with the big dogs when you have him tied to the porch?

This was a fraudulent move on the part of the AD, the President, and the big money guys to get butts in seats at Penny's expense.

Bowen has lied to the last three basketball coaches and yet the boosters and President keep him around.

But, Penny's first choice as an assistant never even coached to the S16 as an assistant. How's that worse than Johnson--who at least got there?

Bigger question--where is Rudd in all this?

Clearly he could override Bowen like he did with firing Penny. But he hasn't. Really the pressure is on him, since (I'm thinking) Bowen works for Rudd.

Can’t compare the two. Tony is in the 2nd chair not Associate Head Coach where Larry Brown would be in and where perhaps Johnson would be in

Just noting that jams is bitching about getting a guy with multiple S16's when no one else currently employed would know about that. Might not be the top of the pops, but it's still good.

Yes without his knowledge. Hence why he was livid . Bowen refused a meeting with penny and brown 1 week after penny was hired.

I'm not advocating Bowens departure. He's done wonders with football even though his fundraising has questions but his dealing with penny seems to be a ego trip at the moment.

WTF are you talking about? Why did only SMU hire him and why has nobody else hired him since then? Being an assistant at Memphis is his dream job and Penny can't succeed without him?

How many other coaches have managed to get 3 schools sanctioned? The guy is about as bad as it gets when it comes to following the rules.

If we hire him, then Rudd, Bowen and the rest thinking it is good enough is good enough for me. IF the same group think that he is too dirty and don't want to hire him, that is also good enough for me.

The hysterics that some of our fans are going into are an embarrassment.

If this is true it’s not just egotistical, it’s a complete bush league move for an AD. I hope Penny takes a stand on this somehow because if he caves in then he’ll be starting his job unfairly boxed in by Bowen

Oh, I am sorry.

Reading comprehension is key.

I said they expect TOP 10 RESULTS out of Penny, not Larry Brown.

They did not hire Larry Brown as head coach of their TOP 10 PROGRAM.

They hired penny Hardaway and they expect Penny to give them TOP 10 results.

Penny should WITHOUT A DOUBT be allowed to hire who he wants to hire if the NCAA is okay with it to help Penny Hardaway achieve TOP 10 RESULTS.

So take your little Tubby agenda on over to the High Point board, they will welcome you with open arms.

So much anger just like the way you run your fantasy leagues. Also stop with the Tubby obsession.

Larry Brown is not the reason we’ll be a top 10 program. As you said, reading comprehension is key. It’s all about getting top level recruits. Penny will get those and the wins will come.

Anger?

I am capitalizing the letters for emphasis not emotion, you silly wabbit.

Penny should be allowed to hire who he wants to hire period.

End of story.

All other coaches hire who they want but Penny can't?

Pfffft.

That's a hot mess.

I am not talking about what to do if you can't hire Brown, I am talking about the FACT that Penny SHOULD be able to hire Brown.

Again, Tubby hired Saul and kicked off Keelon after Bowen promised Keelon an assistant spot.

This is the same tired BS sabotage act.

Now scurry back to the Tubby hole.

Quote:Penny should be allowed to hire who he wants to hire period.

End of story.

Repeating this nonsense 100 times doesn't make it true.
