1. I like the CBU idea, but maybe next round of hires, I want a guy who has done D1 as a head guy. It's not a bad idea though...

2. I think Johnny Jones would not want to come back as a AHC since he already has that gig at a solid job. Memphis is a better job than Nevada, but the situation is good there right now and Musselman is a rocket. He can either follow Musselman to the next stop as AHC or wait it out and see if he can get the HC as an internal hire if (when?) Musselman gets upgraded...

Love Jones though.

I'm not opposed to this hire, but maybe not the first batch? We've got two out of three (Penny / Miller) as complete D1 neophytes. Why not one old hand hire?

Definitely on the list for a next opening hire (If Penny does his job, he will occassionally lose assistants... and we'll need a deep bench).

Larry Brown is still the obvious choice (BY A MILE) but if this administration is forcing the hand Hardaway might as well look at former college coaches doing TV or radio analyst work

not my call but if I found myself in Penny's sneakers I'd offer the spot to Scott Cross. Most folks agree that UT-A was stupid to fire him. He took them to the NCAAs along with multiple NIT/CITs...he's gone 72-33 the past three seasons and has won conference COY twice.
