RE: 4/11/18 Baseball America Projected Field of 64
College baseball stadiums larger than WSU's 7851 seat Eck Stadium:

Mississippi State - 13000
Arkansas - 10737
LSU - 10326
Ole Miss - 10323
Arizona - 9500
Arizona St - 8775
Nebraska - 8500
Alabama - 8500
South Carolina - 8242

Schools listed above AND on the BA article projected as hosting - Arkansas and Mississippi.

Last time WSU hosted we had 8153, as we brought in extra seating. Those fans are still around, and as far as I know have not been abducted by aliens. I will check to make sure though on that last party just for DerpyPirate.

Capacity of the stadiums for the 04/11 BA projected regional hosts:

Arkansas - 10737
Ole Miss - 10323
Florida State - 6700
Clemson - 6217
Florida - 5500
ECU - 5000
North Carolina - 5000
Texas Tech - 4368
Stanford - 4000
Vandy - 3626
Georgia - 3291
Oregon State - 3248
Oklahoma - 3180
NC State - 3000
Indiana - 2500
Duke - 2000

If only we had an open hill in the outfield we could set even more people on. You know, bring your chairs and blankets, grill some dogs and drink beer.

First off, there is no way they allow 4 NC teams to host. Duke still has a lot to prove could easily be exposed as their remaining conference schedule is a slaughter house.

Away: Georgia Tech; Florida St; Virginia Tech
Home: UNC; NC State

I just don’t think y’all are very well educated on baseball around the country. Seating or standing area in the outfield that is not calculated in capacity is at a lot of schools around the country, not just Wichita.

Why not??? I am by not means a fan of the North Carolina ACC schools, but with the change to the seeding, the committee will seed 1-16, and if the ECU, UNC, NCSU and Duke are all within the top 16.. guess what, we will all host. Its projected that ECU and NCSU could be one of the top 8 while UNC and Duke could be one of the top 16. We shall see...

You just got systematically owned in your argument and you’re still calling the people you’re arguing with “absurd”.

You’re a strange one.

Yes, ECU to Fayetteville. Also #1 FSU to Clemson. Maybe they have a job opening for a proofreader.
Houston has dropped out.

Wow, they are going to fit 2 regionals into one location. Talk about maximizing a location.

They got the idea from the C-USA basketball tournament. There will be a curtain separating the games.

Still have a long, tough conference schedule ahead. I think it's more important to win our out of conference slate like Duke and NC State when selection time comes. Like most of our teams, we still have 6 conference series to play. If we only loose a few to solid teams in conference it won't be judged as harshly, I think, by the selection committee.

Those wins would be nice to have, especially on the road but aren't necessary. You aren't going to lose much, if any, ground at all losing on the road against either one of those. Our RPI is 8th right now, it will be hard for us to climb too much more really considering the teams that are in front of us.

We just need to focus on winning the midweek games that are gimmes and winning our reg season league crown.

We continue on the path we're on now and we'll be hosting without a doubt. The UConn series worries me the most at this point. Warren Nolan has us projected to go 46-9 and winning the league by a good margin.

If Wichita State outdraws Ole Miss in a regional, I'll eat my hat.

Wichita might want to worry about getting the opportunity to host one first.

Some ECU baseball fans remind me a lot of Missouri State baseball fans, less the context garnered via CWS experience.

Good point .. which makes you question why some ECU fans like to downtalk a program that has a higher winning percentage all time than ECU...

No one is downtalking you. We're just pointing out the preposterous notion that you're going to outdraw every SEC team in a regional.

Eh ... you might not be ... but there is definitely some that take any chance to downtalk WSU baseball.

I can do another comparo with historical attendance ranks, and years spent in the various T25 publications as well, but it would have to be this evening. It would likewise be terribly lopsided in WSU's favor, but I'm cool with it if you are.
