I'd have to think about some others
Looked like the patriots vs a high school team. Complete destruction
RE: Best single-game performances you've witnessed
Having grown up in Greenville with a grandfather supporting the program & then going on to graduate from ECU, I've seen a lot of Pirate football games in person including the '92 Peach Bowl, a 17-point comeback in final 9-minutes (when I was 12 years old), the '95 Liberty Bowl win over Stanford, the win in '99 over the #9 Miami Hurricanes in a game that had to be moved to Raleigh (NCSU) due to a real hurricane (Floyd) & against all odds ECU came back from 23-3 3rd quarter deficit against arguably the most talented CFB team of all time. Those were nice performances but the following are the best:
The best defensive performance I've ever seen was shutting down 2 Heisman trophy candidates in Pat White & Steve Slaton & 'national title contender' WVU. However, although I didn't see it in person, ECU's 31-6 win in the Orange Bowl over #12 Miami back in '96 may have been better.
Best Special teams performance I've seen in person is the unassisted triple play by T.J. Lee in Charlotte over #17 VT (yes just one play).
Most impressive opponent performance in DFS: Didn't see them in person but pick either of Case Keenum's games in Greenville. It's worth noting that both of them were against the back-to-back C-USA champs on the road & I believe we led the league in defense those years. The 1st time he blew out a ranked ECU team that had just become the only C-USA team (to this day) to defeat 3 consecutive ranked opponents. Even when the #18 Coogs lost in the C-USA championship game he threw for almost 550 yards & 5 TDs.
Best offensive performance: I saw both of Shane Carden's performances against UNC and while his performance in Chapel Hill was tremendous, no one has ever scored more points (70) or gained more yards (789) than ECU did in '14 against UNC (in a single game) since they began playing football in 1888. Just knowing that still makes me feel good.
But The best single-game performance by one single athlete I've ever seen in person is easily Scott Harley's 351 yards gained on the ground against NCSU in Charlotte in 1996. Truly a virtuoso performance.

College Hall Of Famer Paul Palmer ran for 349 yards and three touchdowns at Vets Stadium versus East Carolina October 11 1986. Palmer was unstoppable. Amazingly though Palmer was just a few yards short of breaking the then NCAA single game rushing record, ,Head Coach Bruce Arians sat Palmer down instead of letting him break the record , which he surely would have had he been given the ball one or two more times.

Great post and lots of great moments. I would just add the 91 season going 11-1 with a final ranking of number 9 that season.
Then there is the season of all seasons. Chris Johnson's 2007 season as a senior is hard for anyone to compare. I've been to a lot of games in my life, but he is the fastest human being I've seen play in person. Chris went for 2900 all purpose yards in 12 games with 24 touchdowns. His last game was the 07 Hawaii Bowl where ECU defeated Boise State and Chris went for 408 all purpose yards which is a bowl record still today. That man could fly!!!!

He basically won us the game with that play.
What a game that one was. The ref blew the whistle and started waving his arms right as Trey picked the ball up. UCF still should have tackled him but i'll never forget the controversial call.
One time that referee incompetence actually helped us? Calling the play dead would have been the wrong call. UCF was just really dumb on their punt coverage.

Dude is still running.
Oh yeah, UM's quarterback was like their 3rd string WR because everyone else was hurt.
I was at that one - clarification on the QB, Mo Avery was recruited as a QB out of high school but was moved to WR because he couldn't get past Danny Wimprine at QB. Memphis had the #1 & 2 QB's go down with broken legs and #3 couldn't play so they moved Avery to QB. Houston missed a chip shot field goal and fumbled twice on the goal line to help Memphis win that one. just a wild weird game. Williams had 33 carries for 198 yards & 2 TD's. Avery rushed for 105 yards and 1 TD on 19 carries and 7/12 for 105 yds passing. Avery finished the year at QB and was a big part of the Motor City Bowl win

Yeah but the ref did blow the whistle calling the play dead. It was bad coverage but the play should have never happened if it was the wrong call or not

73 NCAA semi finals in St Louis - Ernie D' put on a passing clinic against Memphis St but Providence came up short in the end. "THE PASS" has to be seen to be believed

That said the best individual performance has to Case Keenum versus Rice in 2011. Setting the all-time NCAA record for passing TD's going 24-37 534 YDS and 9 TD's!!!

Best Cincy game I've ever attended (w/ 06 Rutgers win being a close second).
Made the drive... (11th game I attended in person that season, 12 would be the sugar bowl). It was an amazing time.

I saw a girl in a high school soccer game come on the field as a sub in the 2nd half and score 5 goals in 5 minutes. For those 5 minutes, she was the best athlete in the world.
