There were 4,000 fans at one of the home games on a beautiful day in the fall of 1986.

Some WSU fans get pissed at then-AD Lew Perkins, but there was some justification.

WSU was caught in-between conference changes. It was just too hard to make it as an Indep. in Football.

Had they waited a few more years, I would think they WSU have been invited to the expanded WAC along with Tulsa and would probably be right where we are now - in the AAC.

The Metro... loved following that conference. I would've been happy if that proposed new Metro around 1990 came into being.
