NCHC wins third straight national championship
This is the conference Western Michigan and Miami play in. This was the 5th year of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference. So far the 8 team league has averaged 4 teams per year making the 16 teams NCAA tournament, and 1.6 teams per year in the 4 team Frozen Four. Minnesota Duluth beat Notre Dame 2-1 tonight in the championship game. Truly, the NCHC has been a monster league in college hockey. Last year the national championship game was between two NCHC teams.

Now Miami and Western have contributed something to those stats by making the NCAA tourney, but it is a real challenge every single league game and we both might have been better off if the old CCHA had not collapsed when the Big Ten hockey conference was formed and we lost Michigan, Michigan State,Ohio State, and Notre Dame. Since that was out of our control, joining up with these western powerhouses seemed like our best move. Tough league, though.

Or, you could join Bowling Green in the WCHA. We'd love to have you, and the travel would probably be a bit less onerous.

Miami and Bowling Green aren't even going to play this year. That's too bad. We should play every year.

That is sad. Ohio State dropped us last year ( we had been dominating the series for many years), now we are not playing BG.
