Interesting Connection to Softball
This is slightly off topic, but interesting regardless. Yesterday I had the honor of giving a speech at a Coast Guard 'A' School graduation. If you're unfamiliar with 'A' School, it's a term designating a particular school of profession for Coast Guard members. So if an enlisted member chooses to be a boatswain mate (boat driver), machinery tech, intelligence specialist, electrician's mate, etc... they attend the 'A' school pertaining to that particular field of specialty that they work in for the rest of their career.

So, I spoke yesterday. As they were introducing me they mentioned my having graduated from UNCW in '06 as part of my bio. Following the graduation, one of the graduates asked to take a picture with me. His parents took the picture. His mother came up to me later and asked, "Sir, did I hear correctly that you graduated from UNCW? My daughter is there now. She plays on the softball team. She's the catcher. I sent her the picture and she said "Go Seahawks!". I just wanted to say hello, thank you, and it was great to hear a UNCW guy up there."

I'm not even going to lie. That sweet lady made my day yesterday!

Go Seahawks, and go softball team!
