Spring Game (FB) Saturday
Need one of those countdown clocks CNN and others use. Less than 36 hours away.

Weather is going to be cold and generally uncomfortable but what else is new this spring across much of the country.

Any insights as to how the teams will be divided up?

P.S. after all of the other discussions I'd be happy to discuss FB (and hoops signing period starting Wednesday). Most folks come to these boards for information about players, coaches, recruits, facilities, etc.

Might add that might be a good chance for locals to rub elbows with EMU athletic officials and ask about the Championship Building.

RE: Spring Game (FB) Saturday
As it stands now I am planning to be there even with sinus problems. I'll try to keep a few notes. Brrrr.

Really hasn't been a buzz re spring camp. We got an initial presser and then one recently but not alot from CC and staff. Seems a bit down from previous years. I wonder if CC is more concerned than he wants to let on about this year's team. His most recent presser mentioned they had an injury bug unlike past springs. Hopefully nothing serious.

And yes I'm getting excited about spring hoops signing day. I think we have one open scholarship at the current time.

As '79, E'Tough, and others have indicated: Quarterbacking, quarterbacking, quarterbacking...

That alone is worth sitting out in the cold to see...

The teams are broken up by these coaches (I think both are strength and conditioning coaches) and it seems like they had a draft. The jerseys to be worn were chosen after the two played a round of dodgeball. Losing coach has to shave their beard. Would be cool if they released the 2 teams.

"Finish". I think, after how last season went, that final "F" is the one that most needs to be emphasized. Turn those close losses back into close wins.

At least you are having a Spring Game.

WMU fans short-changed due to weather and "science."

Dear Friends,
The video seems to relay the fact that this will be a game in the true sense. Last year's "game" was offense versus defense. This should be good.

Yeah, the players are actually excited for the new format. Basically a draft that created 2 teams. Should be interesting. Keeping these kids healthy still the main concern of the staff, so the overall amount of live reps will be limited I'd think.

Excellent:

Players I would watch:

QBs Wiegers and Hutchinson. (easy to follow the QBs and these are the two best, I think, of those doing spring ball).

WR / TE: Latu and Odukoya. We need (and needed last year) a TE and a now a replacement for graduated Bailey. CC has spoken highly of Latu.

RB: Maybe newcomers Holloway and Mackey (if he plays).

and maybe some JUCO defenders like Ty Neal, Turan Rush, etc.

If we see and can evaluate some redshirts that would be a bonus.

Should be a fun day, if ONLY the weather had been kinder (ask the White Sox fans what it is like to watch base-a-ball with snow coming down). Good opportunity to get the local 2018 local signees and 2019 recruiting targets out for the show. I assume schools try to use spring games to get new signees and recruiting targets together for the day.

Spring games are fun events for all, coaches, players, family, friends, recruits, fans, etc.

Wish our (WMU) staff felt that way.

Enjoy.

Looks like Wiegers likes the EMU defense... :)

Two nice passes to Sexton.

@EMUFB: After one quarter, Team White leads 7-0. Wiegers is a perfect 5-for-5 with 86 yards and a TD!

I'm hearing Wiegers and the D-Line look good. Punting still ugly. Maybe someone there can confirm this later.

Looks like both teams are having good passing days.

Looks like a number of newcomers are making plays.

RE: Spring Game (FB) Saturday
Following the EMU FB tweets.

Sounded like a good game. Lot of offense. A few good defensive sacks. QBs seemed to get the job done, esp. the top 2, Wiegers and Stiebeling.

Noticed the key plays by Sexton and a number of newcomers.

The game was about 1/2 the length of a regular game. Believe the game ended before 4:30 (it started at 3).

Green wins on a pass from Preston best back today was Turner Sexton may have a monster year this fall Latu looked good the newcomers Rush is impressive Porter redshirt and Williams at wide receiver caught my eye still not must at tight end or punting its close still between Trey and Isaac with Trey having a slight edge
