Here is the page from 1999 when Sid was hired...

In retrospect, I can't believe I believed it would work. 03-puke

It seems history is bound to repeat itself in spite of our best hopes. This time the local hero is a veteran coach so I take comfort in that.

Definitely was an exciting time back then. Moving into a brand new 18,000 seat arena. Sidney coming in as head coach. Probably had the delusion we were heading to the big-time. Had that delusion again during the 2nd half of Beard's tenure. Probably had it some time during Newell's tenure as well. Now, I am back to reality. I believe we can have a "nice" program in Little Rock that can regularly finish in the top half of the standings and go to the NCAA tournament every once in awhile. Perhaps more than once every couple of decades. I'd be thrilled with a top 4 finish, so I can head to New Orleans on Thursday night rather than Tuesday night. RBL thinks that's possible for next year. Maybe it is. Who knows. Looks like Darrell thinks he can get some better players to go along with Tucker, Burns, Lottie, Oliver, and Bankston. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Actually, that looks like a pretty good starting line-up for next season. If Darrell can get somebody good enough to knock one of those out of the starting line-up, he'll be doing real well.
