OT: The Baseballs
Are juiced this year. In the Bigs. Not sure if they are wound tighter or a different core or something else but just from what I've seen in the first week of the season balls are flying too far too fast.

Marcel Ozuna just hit a ball 117 mph almost 500 feet. Sorry. No bueno.

Late 1990's all over again. The players are still juicing too.....let us not be naive.

But then again, it seems like every pitcher throws 95mph too.

Well, at least they are trying to drug test. Guys are getting caught now.

But yeah the fact that everyone throws mid to high 90's is fascinating. When I played most pitchers I faced were hitting 90 to low 90's in college ball and that's where they lived even if they made it to the bigs. But these guys now can play three or four years of college ball never throwing much harder than 90 and then they get to the minors and within in two years their velocity is consistently 95, 96. The kids coming out of high school get there even faster. Makes you wonder.

Yeah Tommy John is basically a rite of passage at this point. Seems like all of them get it.
