Only 7 of the 12 list attendance on their stat page so for the other 5 the attendance listed is from their most recent Saturday CUSA home game only.

USM - 3,878
Rice - 2,505
LT - 1,671
FAU - 690
UTSA - 532
ODU - 349
Marshall - 82 (not a typo, 82)

These are the ones who don't list attendance on their website:
Charlotte - 820 (Saturday game vs FIU)
UAB - 642 (Saturday game vs LT)
MT - 579 (Saturday game vs Charlotte)
FIU - 445 (Saturday game vs ODU)
WKU - 342 (Saturday game vs MT)

Simply amazing, and no I'm not kidding. How does USM get that many people at a, say, Thursday 3pm game? Do people not have jobs? Or is it mainly student attendance? I'm very impressed. What a pretty good source of revenue to your AD.

Part of the reason USM's average is that high is because of our season opening series vs in state rival Mississippi St. The only way to pretty much guarantee getting tickets to that series was buying season tickets which started at $200. When single game tickets went on sale about 10 days prior to the start of the season those remaining tickets sold out in about 30 minutes. I had a few friends who bought season tickets just to make sure they had them for the opening weekend OR they bought season tickets and sold the opening weekend tickets to State fans for around $100 which meant the USM fan(s) had season tickets to the remaining home games (24 at the time but a 3 game series was added) for $100 which isn't a bad deal considering single game tickets are $10 each. Attendance for each of those 3 games on opening weekend was 4,980 or so per game...so just under 15K for the weekend.

So if you were to watch this weekend's games vs Rice there might not be 3800 or so in attendance each game but that's how many tickets will have been sold per game

Around here baseball is to us what basketball is to yall. Baseball has no trouble getting 1500-2000 on a crappy weather day while basketball struggles to get 1500 regardless of weather and opponent (and yes I realize basketball is indoors but people could use that as an excuse to stay home and avoid driving in bad weather and then walking to the arena in said bad weather).

And to somewhat show the 2 sports interest level based off Twitter social media...
USM basketball twitter has 2.6k followers
USM baseball twitter has 13.9k followers

as well in year's past when we've had a baseball/basketball DH on a Saturday and the athletic dept does a "present your baseball ticket at the basketball game and your basketball ticket is only $5", baseball will still outdraw basketball by over 1000-1500 fans

hoooold on now. yes, USM has good baseball attendance. but lets get real here. the reason baseball is outdrawing basketball, is bc the current basketball coach destroyed the program (ok, now the Sadler defenders will come crying). ill rephrase that a little bit. when the basketball team was doing well, it outdrew baseball. since basketball is struggling, baseball has more in attendance.

i could be wrong, but i thought i remembered that some of the Turk years averaged around 6000 or so in basketball.

ALL attendance numbers are fake in terms of B-I-S.

BIS is not the basis - tickets sold is. I am counted for 2 for attendance every home game, as a season ticket holder.

Why is this so hard to understand?

As long as the numbers are on the same basis, they will do for comparison.

Sorry, didn't mean to come across like that. I like ODU. Was trying to indicate that the weather isn't keeping other fans from attending games at other nearby schools to ODU.

Tonight’s attendance at USM vs Rice was 3790 which was probably not too far off from the actual butts in seats.

Good thread. I was curious so I calculated the average at Charlotte this season so far. We are averaging 854 so far this season on campus. I'll keep track moving forward.

We've also played 2 other mid- week games at the Charlotte Knights Triple A park.
We were the "road" team vs Wake Forest and listed attendance was 1631. We were the 'home" team vs UNC-Chapel Hill and listed attendance was 4049. Unfortunately we had a "home" game at the uptown park vs Arkansas rained out.

Our last season in the A-10, I think we were averaging over 1000 and finished in the Top 50 in attendance. There is lots of potential here, and I think with our new AD coming in, we may be able to tap into it. Our previous AD and staff treated baseball season as vacation season. With a little effort, I think we could be up in the Top 40 or so.

Unfortunately we don't hold the dominance in the sport that we used to. But for now at least we hold that record.
