true, but UT can also point to those guys and their loyalty to UT as evidence of an ethic of commitment. lots of these young men looking for a stable program that commits to it's players. everyone isn't all about trying to be big time. a player like gaige hill is often smart enough to recognize, "i'm really good, but I don't always get the attention" and are drawn to schools like UT that thrive on guys with good talent who are grounded and haven't had all the breaks.

Surprised this hasn't been mentioned yet but we got commit #6 by way of 3* QB Michael Kern out of Orlando. He had a large number of G5/FCS offers and looks like some interest from a few others. Candle and staff continue to find success down in FL!

He threw for 3,383 yards & 39 touchdowns as a junior. Not sure about his competition down in Florida, but that’s damn impressive.

Gaige Hill has been rated 3 stars and the #24 player in Pa.

Another GREAT RECRUIT for UT !!!! Kern is another excellent recruit for UT. Poised, great arm, nice kid, smart, humble, super arm. UT has MULTIPLE qb’s for coming years!!! Great job by staff to be 1st in on this young man!

UT needs a high quality PK/FG/KO place kicker in 2019 class. We’ve been lucky to have 2 very good 4 year starters in Detmer and Vest. Let’s keep it rolling with another quality PK recruit. This is a important priority for the UT staff for 2019. We have some nice walk-one on-board but staff is looking for top 50 type players at their positions so a national search is required.

I believe both Holley brothers are in NFL camps trying to make teams as free agents.

Getting verbals from two of the better D-lineman from Pa. is huge . I think Henderson and Hill will have great careers as Rockets if they stand by their commitments, which I think they will.

Well, he chose us over App St so to those that said that skunking wouldn't hurt recruiting: point.

This staff is a recruiting machine!!!! I am consistently impressed with the quality of character and athleticism of our recruits over the last 8 years or so and especially the last 5 or so. It is important to bring in young men who value what is offered to them and vice versa.

Just wondering if that is always a good thing? I am all for competition, plus need to protect in case of injuries, and also possibility a QB could change positions, but is there a point where too many high quality QB recruits creates issues where guys not getting playing time end up transferring?

Any thoughts to the critical balance of numbers of QB recruits on depth chart at any one time? Or is it as simple as you can never have too much of a good thing at that position?
