Villanova is looking for its 2nd National Championship in the past 3 seasons, which has been done only twice since 1975.

They've won each of their 2018 NCAA games by 10+ points or more, the 5th time that's happened in the past 10 NCAA tournaments.

Villanova has won more games over the past 4 seasons than any other Div-1 team in history.

yeah, kind of amazing the runs that Nova has gotten on. One small point- it'd be 4th time- had Duke and Florida with back to backs, and then Kentucky in 96 and 98(and they lost in 97 in title game in between).

Win this year, and they go into next season with a very real chance to be the dominant team of the 10's in a fashion of a team dominating a decade that we've not seen realistically since UCLA. If they had been able to convert one of the 14/15/17 bids into a title- this would be unquestionable IMO.

Like I said on the other board-
just looking at the Nova/Kansas game- if one team gets in foul trouble it would be huge. 2 of the bottom 50 teams in the country in bench minutes (Nova 301, Kansas 344). Neither team that good in getting to the line regularly(Nova 281, Kansas 330).

Looking at the KP 4 factors- the one big advantage that Nova may have is rebounding. While both Nova and Kansas are mid 29 on offensive rebounding, defensively, Kansas is 290th while Nova is 105th. That could give Nova some extra chances, which is not exactly the thing you want to do vs Nova.

It'll be interesting to see how the dome setting impacts things. I know didn't bother Nova 2 years ago shooting wise, but each dome setting is different.

going in, you would have been afraid that Michigan would blow out Loyola and the 2 1 seeds pound the crap out of each other- giving Michigan a big advantage for Monday night. But it was in a lot of ways the opposite. Michigan and Loyola did pound the heck out of each other and meanwhile Nova had relatively speaking a cake walk. Everything IMO favors Nova.

And yeah, don't think the dome setting impacted Nova much at all.... It sure did Michigan in the 1st game.

tonight will be really interesting. you almost always worry when you are such a unanimous favorite the way Nova is on this. Always seems to be the big upsets when that happens. I think I saw from CBS, ESPN, and USA Today- of the 40 people paneled, 39 picked Nova to win(only one who didn't was Paul Biancardi from ESPN recruiting).
